Maybe for the Marines, but the Army had to raise enlistment bonuses while lowering qualification standards and reduce combat training to maintain adequate troop levels in Iraq. They're even transferring Air Force and Naval personnel to provided support roles because of the shortage.... and for good reason.

What do you think the unfair negative press regarding the war, the President, and attack on the military are doing to enlistment rates?

As opposed to the unfair positive press?

Well, if I was young and despite being gung ho, maybe I'd think maybe this war is not something I want to be a part of. Only 30 some odd percent of the American people currrently agree with the administration. Those eligible to join or re-enlist are also part of that 30 some odd percent, so yes, recruitment is down. The taste for this war and its ramifications has gone from sweet to sour in many people's minds. It's a tougher sell when the product is unpopular. However, if the administration can come up with some WMDs stuffed in missiles aimed at Israel and Europe, then you've got a pretty decent Uncle Sam poster.

What better place to fight than Iraq? The poll numbers have been hammered down by the DNC and a Republican hostile press. People believe what they are taught; a very small minority do their homework and bother sifting through the garbage for truth...I am one of that very small minority.

We entered Iraq because of their connection with al qaeda and their cooperative relationship with WMD production and delivery. Whether they are there or not is irrelevant (except to the traitorous double-faced DNC) to the relationship and funding of international terrorism by the Saddam regime, fueled by the illicit sales of oil contracts to the most vocal opponents of our invasion...We have liberated 50,000,000 people in the process, unseated a tyrant, created a terrorist magnet, uncovered the largest scam in world history (oil for food) and offered the only viable alternative to turning the place to glass, namely sewing the seeds of freedom and democracy.

Through the prism of historical precedent this war is the most surgical and precise, clean and humantiarian, war in the history of man...We are winning, a Constitution has been voted on and approved, they have elected an interim government and they are slowly getting on their feet. We have split the middle-east in half, created a friend in the middle-east, and developed a friendly source of oil that owe us big-time...Will it work?...Who knows, but it is certainly a better approach than the failed Clinton foreign policy.

We wouldn't be having this debate if Clinton apprehended Osama when he had the chance (the Sudan offered Osama on a silver-platter).

We, as a country, are being divided from within. The DNC are the culprits. They are lying, focusing on the negative, impugning our military and sending the message to the world that Bush is lying. The world media are eating this up. They are being lied to by the Democrats and they, in turn, are using the Democrat seditious slander of our country to whip up their subjects. The Islamofascists are cheering that their holding out and continued murder of innocents and American soldiers is playing itself out quite effectively, as the DNC/media run stories that benefit Islamofascism more than they do our country.

This is all about the reacquisition of power by the DNC...The DNC who brought us Vietnam the quagmire, the DNC who sold missile technology to the Chinese communists for campaign contributions, the DNC who would rather our economy fail and our security be jeopardized than for a Republican to succeed and our country to prosper safely.
