I recently bought this from Lowe's.
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=225285-50584-FT-MS-2C-3W&lpage=none Only $40. 3-watts LED flash light. I think it is the same bulb that SureFire uses. The best thing is that it takes 2 standard C batteries. It's the brightest thing I've ever seen. |

SureFires are not LED (at least the common ones are not). LED's are great for long life, but they are not as bright and do not reach out as far.
The military types all use the Surefire type lights for reaching out touching someone.

i am asking for a surefire tactical for the holidays. i am asking myself. for defense, dont forget Jabbing is better than clubbing. harder to block/dodge. nothing is brighter.
for my everyday flashlight, i have the plastic STINGER from streamlight. also superarsebright. i have used it to pick up dogturds at night. i like it because it is rechargable. but if you need clublike qualities, the rechargable maglight is unbeatable. bright, superbright, and tuff as nails. my bro had one for years as his service light.
