Republican code
1. You are against federal intervention in your personal lives, but want to control what women do.
2. You believe that unions are evil and big business is the salvation for us all. 3. You believe that missing WMDs in Iraq are more threatening than nuclear weapons in the hands of Chinese and North Korean. 4. You believe that there art, music, and theater have no economic value and should not be taught in schools. 5. You believe that one doesn’t worry about the effect of pesticides on future generations, because that will be their problem. 6. You believe that personal morals are more important in a President than the ability to lead a nation towards a better future. 7. You believe that the AIDS virus is God’s retribution on homosexuals. 8. You believe teachers are way overpaid, although you would never accept such wages or such a job. 9. You believe that hunters only kill for food, not for sport. 10. You believe that being a white anglo saxon makes you more worthy. 11. You believe the NRA is good because it supports parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is bad because it supports parts of the Constitution. 12. You believe that taxes are too high, and the poor should pay even more. 13. You believe that Rush Limbaugh and Pat Buchanan are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Robert E. Lee, and Thomas Edison. 14. You believe that standardized tests are fair and balanced, after all, didn’t white anglo saxons make up the tests. 15. You believe that Christian Republicans are good and Christian Democrats are evil. 16. You believe that unfettered capitalism is God’s plan of salvation 17. You believe that homosexuality should be illegal, and homosexuals should be put to death, after all, isn't that God's plan anyway. 18. If you don't like a veteran's viewpoint, say all his medals were undeserved. 19. If you can't refute the statement, call the man a bastard and his wife a whore. I'm sure there are more silly statements from both sides. I don't find any of them amusing. |

I'm republican and don't believe in any of the above.
These items are the common misconceptions that liberals believe republicans believe.

"19. If you can't refute the statement, call the man a bastard and his wife a whore."
Or if she is a covert CIA agent, disclose this classified information to journalists and then lie about it.

How about this one:
To be an Independent you must: 1. Understand that our political process is a sham. Both parties are completely corrupted and only interested in maintaining or growing their own power. 2. Know that politicians all pander for the cameras and call each other names only to laugh about it over a scotch and water after hours while they figure out the best ways to keep each other in power. 3. Realize that although our system sucks it is the best thing out there so try and work within it. 4. Be able to laugh at those who doggedly defend their partisan territories and blindly support their party of choice, fervently believing that their leaders really do have their best interests at heart.

Still wish you guys would spend your time on finding some direction for the Democratic party. It has none right now and wasting your time hassling the rest of the voters in the country is doing nothing productive.
On the other hand, keep it up so that we will win the next elections! Thanks guys! JoeA

At the rate things are going, the Democratic party won't need a platform.

Totally agree, if they keep losing elections then they will disband. What will you all do then?

I'm waiting for a call from the DNC, Joe. I've got a couple of simple ideas for them, and I just hope they don't wait too long.

But again, if this "administration" keeps doing a good job of showing Americans what Republicans are all about, then the choice will be clear enough for American voters, regardless of what the DNC does.

Both parties have, in my mind, collapsed. With the way things are now, come next election, I'll have no one for whom I will feel comfortable casting a vote.

Maybe Nostatic will get his revolution.
I would LOVE to see that. LOVE IT. This country's problems could all be solved if the electorate were to notice what's going on. In both parties. And if they demanded a government that did the best possible job of improving and protecting and enhancing the lives of its citizens, then I'd be happy. And frankly, I'd get what I want. What some of you call liberalism.

I don't respect any of the candidates for the last 3-4 elections and would surely vote "none of the above" if given the choice in most elections. Bzzzzzt, losers, give us another slate.....BZZzzzzt, try again..... The current state of partisan politics would have to improve to just suck. And no I'm not a Liberal or an Independent.

Dude yourself! I am working hard to make myself, my family and my country better and have no time to sit and watch anyone. Stop "watching the party in power" and try to do the same thing yourself for your party and maybe you guys will stop losing elections! Also, you have no idea who I voted for so that will not wash either. I vote for the person, not the party line. There are those of us who are registered Repubs who can think you know and have actually voted for independents or Demo's when they deserved it. Hope you guys are having as much fun as we are! ![]() JoeA
