Overrated drummers thread

You knew it was coming after seeing the respect the guys in the other thread were so deservedly receiving

My three nominees for most overrated drummer are:

1.) Lars Ulrich
2.) Tommy Lee
3.) Riki Rocket

Dunno about Ricki Rocket being overrated. Who thinks he's one of the greats?

Nomex suit is on.....how about Ringo Starr? I love the Beatles, but Ringo never inspired me.

Tommy Lee is very talented. It's funny because his drumming ability has taken a back seat to other things. He really is very good.
I agree about Ringo. I am not a Beatles fan. I respect what they did for music but their songs do nothing for me.
Ricki Rocket is rated by somebody?! For what, his hairdressing skills? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, he used to do a hairdresser.

Never really listened to Rush.

I can't get past Geddy Lee's (is that his name?) voice.

Yeah, Lars is a bit of a d1ck, but aside from that, he's a rather poor drummer. I really like Metalica (well, the early stuff, anyway; long, flowing, melodic pieces) and when listening to it I would always wish that they had a better drummer. He could never keep up with what the others were doing. Maybe he was deep in thought on how to make more money, rather than better music.

I play Poker with a Drummer by the name of Joe Davis? who played with Stan Kenton back in the day...I see him constantly writing music while playing cards...anyway he was backstage during the recent Rolling Stones concert at the Mandalay Bay, and said Keith was playing better than ever.

But besides the brief history of this person...He thinks Led Zepplin was the best RR band ever, because of Bonzo. He liked Keith Moon, didn't like Ginger Baker. Thinks the Stones Rythem section is great. He thinks Eric Clapton can do it all and is the best...yet he wasn't impressed with Jimi Hendrix. Who in my opinion was right off the charts as being great.

I gotta pick this guys brain a bit more..

Well then you've got to give the song YYZ a listen...no Geddy, except for his bass.

I play in a band no one has ever heard of and I vastly overrate myself.
