Time for some range time to vent your frustrations on it...

I remember wearing one of those.

Did you break it? Congrats on the freedom.

Broken 5th metatarcel (outside bone of the foot) clean through. It is still healing, but I only wear the boot if it starts to hurt.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing!

Dancer's fracture? I did the same thing to my right 5th metacarpal (equivalent bone in the hand) and it's called a boxer's fracture.

I have a friend who broke the same bone as you (did it dancing) and she still has a pin in there because she doesn't want to do the surgery to remove. Still dances on it though.

I thought this thread was going to be about something completely different, based on the title. Guess I'll have to keep waiting to get rid of the rainbow confetti....

Cool

Humbly retracted original statement.

Something about coming out of the closet and south park...

Hmm - that thing just smell rancid...

A few years back, I broke my leg during a snowboarding mishap. Was in a cast up to my hip, then a cast up to my knee, then a brace like yours. Total 'down time' was 6 months. I feel your pain.

Trees? Usually to break a leg with a snowboard involves some other object.

The doc initially said 6-12 weeks. I'm glad it erred on the 6 side.

Yes, a Jones or Dancer's fracture, from celebrating the Astro's win before they were decimated by Chicago. (Side note, I was born in Chicago, so it wasn't a total loss...)

And Mike...do you want me to take back the oven? Hmmmm?

Ahh. That explains cool_chick's response. I thought she was accusing me of "having a friend" who broke "her" foot dancing.

Good to hear. I broke my heel a little over a year ago, (shattered it actually), it took ~10 months to heal. It was frightening, there was no guarantee that it would ever be back to normal.

I could post pictures of it, but anyone slightly squeamish would object. It was a beauty, lots of colors.

I didn't take pictures of mine, but it was swelled up and it turned that sickly blue green color you get with broken bones, unlike the blue/black that you get with a bruise.

Nope - to trees. Just a tiny little jump and a landing in wet, wet snow. Board stuck, and the rest of me went twist. The 'snap snap' sound and well as the initial pain was what gave it away that something wasn't quite right. Fortunately, I didn't try to get up on the leg or try to ride the rest of the way down. As such, they didn't need to set the bones and no pins were required.

BTW: Stratton Mountain has an excellent medical facility. That said, I hope to never set foot in there again!

Oh...um....yeah...retracted.

I mean, really - I don't know what came over me - I was at your wedding and everything. I remember a lot of booze...or maybe boobs...something with two "o"s in it...

I think we popped a bottle of wine from the wedding a few weeks ago...

I spent 4 months of 2004 with a cast/boot on the left leg and 4 months of 05 with cast/boot on the right. It sucked.

Next time we're out your way, we owe Gwenn a glass/bottle of something nice, since the last time we were out, she couldn't drink....

Unless you do that to here again!
