Now in the USA I think the people have been lulled into somblence, and the power now resides with corporations and the Amercian govt Burecracy. If things get too out of control, those powers will establish a Dictatorship...if you look at Rome the Repblic just didn't die overnight it took 100 years for it to be finished...for the Ghost of the Repblic to be put to rest..their was alot of sentiment for Democracy... and it took alot of PR that in the interest of Rome etc we need to do this...and a lot of Democracycrats went missing...
Look....booing a controversial figure is not what you're talking about here...

Dean's been booed down before, Moore, Cheney, Strisand,k Kerry....this ***** happens a lot. It's people who are exercizing their right to dissent. It's a GOOD thing. If we lived in a dictatorship/fascist state, this would not be happening....

I think the difference here is....If I as an indivdual go to a speech and don't like it and start boooing....and even if the whole audience as indivduals starts booing that is one thing...But to form a group of indivduals and purposefully go in and disrupt a speaker from stating an opinion because you don't like it, that isn't Democracy that is Fascism...

You're just mad because you want to do Coulter.

I suspect if this post was about when Moore was booed, you would laugh.

It's the price these controversal people pay for their controversial remarks.........

Capitalism, free market in action.

Seriously, you need to embrace the fact that the government doesn't force us to hear an opinion, that we can attend to hear a myriad of opinions, that we can boo...

Let me restate something I wrote long ago...

At one time (1920-1960s) Liberals...Progressives were for the Rights of the Indivdual. To protect the indivdual from the group or larger enity. Miranda, Voting Rights Bill, Unions, Social Security etc most of that was accomplished maybe imperfectly by the 1960s. However today the Liberal causes no longer protect the indivdual from society ...but protect Society (the group) from the indivdual. The ban on public smoking comes to mind...one smoker excercising their right is now told to cease because it hurts the whole group. Gun Control, to protect the whole group the indivdual is told he has to give up his rights out of fear that he MAY go off the deep end or commit a crime. The Group welfare instead of indivdual welfare is now paramount with Liberals.

Glad you seem to "know" what all "liberals" around the country think....

Wish I had that mind-reading ability....

Didn't I just say that....but when an organized group comes in to halt that process...you got an entirily different animal there.

Coulter to make money makes herself controversial...she likes the fame and money...rather than be a retiring academic or reporter. Yet I think despite her controversial rhetoric she has some good points to make.

Gee I'm sorry I didn't get in at the beginning....

Coulter is a blonde twit spouting a liberal agenda for money and face time.....being a conservative and female would have made her less....read between the lines.

Move along.....you guyz really need a ******* life.

Coulter's appearance prompted protests from several groups, including Students Against Hate and the Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center. They criticized her for spreading a message of hate and intolerance.

Nearly 100 students gathered inside the Student Union for a rally against Coulter. About a half-dozen people held protest signs outside the auditorium.

Students Against Hate and PR/LA Cultural Center? ...there are TWO GROUPS for ya...

Ahh, cool.

Awesome efforts, I might add! Ability to dissent is a beautiful thing...

And how come you won't denounce the behavior at Moore's speech?

I don't follow Moore career, and if you show me a Group was behind a disruption then they get the same Fascist label
