Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle...

Gonna put an eye out? Naw, you'll just kill your mom...

Wasn't it in Kansas where all those folx were playing with automatic weapons recently?

slakjaw 12-29-2005 09:15 AM

That is a really sad story.

legion 12-29-2005 09:19 AM

So...who's going to call for a ban on BB guns?

turbo6bar 12-29-2005 09:23 AM

Shoot to kill. The kid will regret this later in life, but I don't blame him for doing what he did.

I'm sorry, but to me, it's sad that this is all you can think about when reading this story....

I fell sorry for the owner of the sport utility vehicle she slammed into.
.
BTW, pellet rifle, not a BB gun.
I have an RWS Diana, .177 cal.
1,500 - 1,700 fps, as I recall.
Not to be taken lightly.

Look at it this way...if the kid doesn't have the gun then the mom probly kills Grampa and the kid with the scissors and gets the death penalty 25 years later for the crime...

I suspect you think the same thing whenever you read any of my posts.

Still, this is clearly the fault of pellet gun manufacturers and the culture of violence that they perpetrate. Next thing you know, we will be exporting this to peaceful places like Canada.

Not to be taken lightly.

Those are firearm speeds. My paintball guns are not to be operated above 300 fps, and I suspect BB guns have a similar velocity. This story makes a whole lot more sense with that revelation.

That would make a cool new game for Xbox 360. It's got it all; firearms, scizzors, cars, prostitution and drugs. Rated "M".

Actually, no.

However, in this instance, your thinking is saddening me. I find it saddening this is all you can think about.....

I'm saddened by the fact that this nitwit was released from prison to terrorize and ultimately wreck her family.

But no doubt society is to blame.
Or Bush.
Or Canada....

and I find it saddening that you honestly believe this is all he is capable of thinking about

FrayAdjacent911 12-29-2005 12:23 PM

CC, I don't think that's what he's thinking about, he's being fecitious, saying it before some gun-grabber bleeding heart touchy feely lefty comes in here with the same old line.

Like it or not, there are going to be lots of people who really WILL say that pellet guns should be banned, and that these kids would be good, productive members of society if it weren't for that pellet gun perverting them and turning them into violent killers.

Why does everything have to be so damn "political" all the time? Geez!

Always have to make some sort of "statement" at all costs, huh? Never can miss that opportunity, huh?

Or maybe just take the damn story at face value as a very sad thing and quit making everything so damn political....

This is genuinely sad all around.

FrayAdjacent911 12-29-2005 12:40 PM

Well, if you want my thoughts on it, no political agenda... I say...

GOOD SHOOTING SON!

GOOD SHOOTING SON!

I hear ya. Damn, this is sad though.......

I can't imagine my mother being a drug addict. I can't imagine what it must be like growing up like that....

FrayAdjacent911 12-29-2005 12:46 PM

True CC... I come from what I regard as a pretty normal family... mom and dad still married and still happy (for which I am greatly thankful). It's difficult to grasp at first... a woman threatening and attacking her own father?

There are some messed up people out there, that's for sure.
