That boy did the right thing. He protected a good person (grandfather) who was raising him while his good for nothing mom tried to kill him/them. He did a very good thing. She has nothing coming in my book.
How can we feel sorry for this dope fiend, prostitute who spent more time in prison in the past 16 years than out? Maybe I missed something. David |

I wonder if the kid meant to kill his mother?
Who knows..... Yeah he is going to have some serious baggage thats for sure. |
Bumper sticker on grandpa's truck: "My grandson was Marksman of the Month at Wichita Middle School."

the bummer here is that people are in no small part a product of their environment. While mom has to take responsibility for her own spot in life (now dead), her parents gave her (or didn't give her) the tools to deal with life. And now they have the grandson. Maybe they'll have a better outcome the second time around...

I agree with the original post. Good thing he didn't kill her with a corkscrew. Life would suck without corkscrews. ianc |

But seriously, sad situation... Hmmm....I need to get me one of those High Powered assault air rifles, before they're banned. |

Because they are so freeaking dangerous. I mean you could put an eye out with one of those.
I do think we are all jumping to the conclusion that the air rifle killed her. She has a history of alcohol/drug abuse with mental problems. She definitely wasn't in her right mind and was probably on some sort of bender at the time. I suspect that had more to do with her car accident and death than the Pellet in her chest. No where in the article did it state what she was having surgery for. Sheesh. I go away for a week and all H3LL breaks loose. |

No one is "calling" for this based on this incident. Why people would say such, based on absolutely nothing, I dunno. All of this here is nothing more than strawman. If some group comes forward and tries, I'll stand with you all the way. I'm a second amendment kind of girl. Unless that happens, this is just a silly strawman, heretics. Just trying to keep it real...... |
CC, maybe the original poster jumped to the conclusion that _someone_ would suggest a gun ban based on this incident. I don't think that will happen. However, there is too much garbage today where some sort of incident is blamed on the gun, and call for the banning of them, than really looking at the actual problem.
Mike H and I have spent more than a bit of our lives digging into Root Cause Analysis, and Control Plans. In looking at the results of Gun Bans, the intended effect did not match original desired effect. Of course, a lot of government sponsored programs (and Corporate for that matter!) do not have the intended effect, because no one really looks for the root cause of the issue. A Anyway, segwaying back to the original issue, too many of these incidents are used to show the need for Gun Control, and some of us pro-gunners may be a little <sr>sensative<sr>! James |
crap, the server ate my sarcasm marks!
|
So this isolated incident has become a poster child for gun control or no gun control now? Who read that into this isolated incident and why?
I haven't seen anyone take the position that this poster incident means we need gun control or something. Who or what group is doing that? Have a link? Why not other incidents? Why this one? |
You know what should be banned? Those little plastic guns that shoot sucker cups out of the end. Man, get one of those suckers stuck on your forehead sometime...that really hurts!! Plus, what would happen if you happened to shoot one of those suckers right into your mouth and then your airway was blocked?? You could die from a plastic sucker gun!! Those things should definitely be banned.
