Guys, in 9 ball, the term "race" is universal. ONe of the best in the world at it is a guy named Efren, from the Phillipines. 112 racks in a row? Even he would find that tough to do. VERY tough to do. Akin to a NBA star making 300 free throws in a row.

Adam, I was born and lived in Hong Kong. I am living in San Francisco for the next 9 months. I am going to have a great time this weekend visiting Sears Point Raceway and watching Hans Stuck race.

Oh, Hong Kong huh?
Well then the whole "grand a rack 9 ball" thing makes sense. I mean, there's always been a HUGE abundance of American dollars in Hong Kong, right? Especially when the British owned it (oh, no wait, those are pounds), and especally now that Chinese have it back (no, wait, they don't use dollars either). Nice try wannabe |

Uhh, guys? He is talking about a GGR autocross. That's PCA's Golden Gate Region, in Northern CA. One of the autoX venues in the SF Bay Area is the Alameda County Sherriff's driver training facility. It's located next to the Santa Rita prison, right outside of Dublin, CA.
He doesn't have to ship his car to Ireland, just drive across the Bay Bridge. If he shows, I'll ask some of the regulars what he showed up with. I'm not going--I don't have a good autoX car to play with, just a Honda. (Actually, my running car is a CRX, which is a pretty good autoXer for a front-driver.)--DD |

Ricers or Deutschers, does not matter. Mi 31 year old Saab is set to compete and beat ANY honda or porsche. I select the race parameters, you select the waiger.

All of you should have figured out this guy was a sham as he has "member" status. Seems unlikely for a guy who is here for a few months. I highly doubt he spends his time here rather than checking out the lastest air freshners and cupholders at K-mart. Also, only and idiot, and I mean a true Idiot would ever make such stupid statements. I NEVER understood how people could sink so much moola into a dumpy car instead of getting something respectable. Even when I was 16, I would wonder "who the hell would do such a thing?" ANYTIME I saw a souped up ricer, even if it did have a bunch of horses under the hood. Why bother? Just get a damn crotchrocket instead!
I'm baffled. Jon '85 targa |

It doesn't take much to be a "member", only like 5 posts. According to his profile he has 7 posts, all of which happen to be in this thread.
Hey Edwin, I am guessing you are talking out your blowhole, but if not, read atr911's post again, slowly if necessary. We are not making fun NSX's, Honda 2000's, or any other actual performance/sports cars (even Miata's). We are making fun of economy cars that are pimped like 9eleven is talking about. He really isn't kidding, people do stupid stuff like that. A base model civic is a base model Civic, regardless of what color you paint your brake drums, or how *****in your PVC plastic roll cage is, or how many VTEC and Type-R badges you stick on it, or how big your exhaust tip is. If you are still unclear on what we are talking about, check out: http://www.riceboypage.com/ http://www.beaterz.com/ Tom |

So.. Can you tell us what class your Rice normally runs in ?? I have the 10K and magazine coverage to boot.
Rules ?? How about: 1. Both cars on pump gas 2. Both cars on DOT approved street tires no larger than 205-50-15 3. Normally aspirated (non turbo) (no nitrous) 4. Both cars must be driven to the event starting in a South Bay location Time to get serious. Put up or sht up. How about it ? Can you adhere to the above ? Edwin,
If you are legit, then be out at Dublin. There are some Autox hot shoes in GGR (I am not one of them). You will need to be one talented driver to take top time of day, I don't care what car you are driving. I won't be bringing my check book. But the real glory is for the bragging rights. I will report back to the members on this board. If you take top TOD (or at least make a decent showing), you will win our respect as a driver. However, rest assured we will continue to ridicule rice-mobiles as defined above. These are the big exhuast tip / pointless spoiler and phoney sponsor sticker covered variety. I am sure you have a fast car, anyone can buy a fast car. But getting around the track fast is about your skill, not the car. If you think that you are up to the task, then prove it. |

Ed, apparently you want to believe Porsche enthusiasts have no respect for Japanese badged cars. I don’t see this as accurate. If you show up with a Honda powered F1 car I’m sure you’ll have plenty of takers to even sit in the car. If you show up with a race bike, you may post some good times, that fine too. Please understand there is a difference between Japanese and “rice.” It must be a bit subtle or difficult for you to appreciate the differences; but please try. Your tone smacks of an arrogance well beyond the worst of the gold chain wearing, new money funded, Porsche prik.

BRM9148, My age is 22 years old.
As for magazine coverage, well It was going to be a surprise for you guys, but I'll tell you now that my father is a close freind of Mr. Tom Rogers of PRIMEDIA Inc. for those of you who don't know who Tom Rogers is, well he is the Chairman of PRIMEDIA Inc. who OWNS Automobile magazine. Get it! Well he told us that he is going to get Michael Jordan and maybe also David E. Davis to cover the event. David E. Davis is a real cool guy. He took me bird hunting last year. Mr. Clark Griswald, I find it very complementry of you to admit that you are not a "hot shoe" And let me assure you I am a very talented and astute driver. Last Saturday I viewed the PCA event at 3 COM Park in San Francisco. If I remember correctly the fastest lap was 52 seconds or there about. I got the okay to use 3 COM and on Tuesday we placed cones on the chalk marks left from the Autocross on Saturdays race. I was timed at running the course at 43.30 seconds. And I'm certain I can improve. I do have a fast car, and I am a very good driver as I mentioned above. And I WILL prove it. I did not buy it. I built it with some help from a family member. I got my hands dirty. I enjoy working and modifying engines and suspensions and playing with gear ratios. It was my uncle who originally invented air actuated operating valve trains. |
