I listen to WBBM, News Radio Chicago.
I've noticed that: -They never say "President Bush", only "Mr. Bush" -Daley is never at fault for any scandal, no matter who it involves or what happened. -The traffic on the tollways suck worse then when I moved away from Chicago 9 years ago... -They give more air-time to Jesse Jackson than any other person not in their news room. Daley comes in a close second place. |

sorry, no actual quote, but it was the only show of his i heard.
|
I used to listen to G. Gordon Liddy on a daily basis when he had a lot more car/motorcycle/gun discussions, but I'm sick of him interviewing Israelis every other show now. I'd say Bruce Williams and Paul Harvey are my favorites.

don and mike from DC are my radio gods. they are on like 50 stations nation wide and do a afternoon drive show in the east that is on a sacramento station live from noon to 4pm. i listen to them most everyday when driving from site to site at work. funny stuff.
|
I'll listen to Jim Rome and Stern but then they start to bore me (~1 month) so I'll tune them out for 6 months. Thing with them is that even with a 6 month break I don't feel like I missed anything.

Laura Ingraham is about as much as I can stand. Savage is clearly around the bend. Interesting to note how quickly threads like this de-volve, eh?
|
No self respecting conservative can stomach Michael Savage, except perhaps fastpat.
|
Limbaugh, Hannity, Medved, Snow and some locals, Kirby Wilbur (sitting in for Hannity today) and John Carlson. I've heard of Neil Bortz, but not too sure about him.
But Loveline in the early 90's is my all-time favorite for entertainment. ;) |
Armstrong and Getty, Savage, Hannity.

You guys should consider doing your own thinking. Conservative talk show radio is not news, and it's not about anything remotely resembling news. It's emotion, wrapped in whatever justification is available. It makes your blood boil and it's pure entertainment. Which would be fine, except that your minds won't maintain the firewall between entertainment and information.
If you want to be informed, find out what's going on, and make up you own mind about it. Either that or continue to look like shallow underinformed idiots. |

I'm really not kidding here. Cantdrv55 is correct. For hours, a supposed "news" program will advertise a story about a danger lurking in your house. It'll sounds scary. Then when you tune in at 11:00, they'll tell you that the most likely place in the home to be injured is the bathtub.
Then there is the story about the health club at our state labor department. King 5 News did a vignette on L&I's "health spa," making it sound like tax dollars were being used to provide a Club Med at the L&I building for state workers. Nevermind the truth. The parts they left out were that we had empty space next to the loading dock in the basement, and the local YMCA asked if they could set up a satelite location there. YMCA paid a lease. State workers needed to join the YMCA like everybody else in order to access it. It was open to the public. But those facts were left out in order to deliberately mislead and outrage King 5's viewers. So, get angry if that's what you like. The rest of us will be curious about the "rest of the story." |
I used to listen to Bill Ballance way back when. Then Loveline on and off since back in the day when Poorman was the host. "What do you know?" with Michael Feldman is great.
the rest of the political tripe? Umm...no thanks. It is unbevlievable bad. At least to me. ymmv. Warren Olney on "Which Way LA?" is good though...he actually will get an intelligent person from each side to talk as opposed to bellicose paper tigers. |
Since I live in an almost radio free environment...I listen to Imus driving to work on an AM station and Don and Mike driving home.
If not for the 20 minute commute, I'm University of Texus Bell Tower material... |

Second, to call others "shallow uninformed idiots" really shows what type of person you are. I believe this comment is completely unnecessary and an apology is in order. |
I don't think talk radio is necessarily just about "news" or "entertainment" it is about commentary on current events.
The nice thing about it is that it provides a forum for public discussion and debate. |
I'm surprised no one else has mentioned my favorite, Glenn Beck.
Maybe you guys aren't the "sick freaks" I thought you were. :D If you are a Glenn Beck listener, you'll understand that last comment. Randy |
