Dave Ramsey.
1. It's entertainment.
2. It's educational.
3. It's the truth.
4. It's not politics. Oh, wait maybe I already said that in number 3.

Go Dave! You're Nuts!

In the am I listen to Curtis Sliwa and Ron Kuby. Sean Hannity in the afternoon

Hugh R 12-30-2005 08:56 PM

Bill Handel in LA in the mornings until 9 and then John and Ken or Larry Elder or Tom Lykis during the drive home. I like listening to Rush if I'm on the road from 9-12, but I don't take him too seriously. He does have an excellent, dry, sense of humor. The Air America stuff is mostly lame, I mean just how serious can they expect to be when Jerry Springer is one of their hosts! Also I have yet to hear an Air America host actually offer up any specific solutions to anything, just a lot of complaining about the republicans (not that they don't have enough to get criticized about at this point).

Stern.. Bought Sirius just to hear him FCC free.

Bubba the love sponge is going to be with him on 100. I used to listen to him bavk in thdat and look foward to hearing him again.

Used to listen to Rush for entertainment like Stern. I look foward to seeing how FCC free radio will be.

It's emotion, wrapped in whatever justification is available. It makes your blood boil and it's pure entertainment. Which would be fine, except that your minds won't maintain the firewall between entertainment and information.

If you want to be informed, find out what's going on, and make up you own mind about it. Either that or continue to look like shallow underinformed idiots.

Could not of said it better myself. Now we have more self admitted explaination for all of the group think the righties are famous for.

I have listened to D&M for years, since like 1985 when they started. They have really gone down hill. It's the same old tuff over and over again: Elvis, Low budget Jeopardy, talking to Robbay or BA. They don't even really try to do anything new. It used to be better when they didn't talk to Robbay as much and the addition of Beth Ann (thankfully she's leavng) was a drag. It ws like they were in love with her or something. However, I'm surprised that they were able to hold it together after Freda died.

k911sc, are you one of the Sacremento listeners? :)

I mostly listen to Opie and Anthony re-runs on XM in the afternoon now (unless I'm in my 911 which doesn't have XM)

I'm really not kidding here. Cantdrv55 is correct. For hours, a supposed "news" program will advertise a story about a danger lurking in your house. It'll sounds scary. Then when you tune in at 11:00, they'll tell you that the most likely place in the home to be injured is the bathtub.

There was a FOX5 report a while back about "Feces in your Washing Machine". No shiit? (pun intended) That's where I put my drawers after track days. :D

Colin Cowherd ESPN radio... hilarious.

Also nice to have a west coat guy doing a national sports show. No east coast media bias on his show.

2nd! I love going to work in central KS because he's on for three hours in the afternoon. I like the talk radio that makes a difference, the conservative political stuff gets old, and I'd probably fit into the conservative demographic. Troubleshooter Tom Martino is good too. Thing about those shows, you may actually learn something useful, and it is entertaining. Plus, when somebody calls in with $100k of credit card debt it makes me feel better about myself.;) Anybody with debt trouble should check him out.

Use to catch this guy Phil Hendry out of California via Austin, TX. He did little skits with voice characters he made up and used touchy subjects to antagonize listeners into calling in, outraged. Naturally, he was all the characters, and at the same time the host of the show taking calls. Totally outrageous and entertaining. It took awhile to figure out he was manipulating all of it. Some ofhis topics were REALLY borderline current events.
Happy New Year

Ramsey is hard for me to listen to as he'll tell a caller to take six jobs to pay off his debt, where as he went bankrupt when he got in trouble.

Also he says that even Corporations should never have debt and that's just stupid. On a personal level his advice is solid though.

His schtick never changes...I outgrew him in the early 90's...

I could take him a little more if he would avoid the bodyily noise humor.

Mike and Mike. Golic and Greenberg. ESPN TalkRadio in the morning. It's the only way to escape the right-wing mindless drivel on the radio where I live.

True, but he does at least acknowledge his mistakes, and has a "do as I say, not as I did" sort of approach. I rarely disagree with his advice, and have applied much of it to our lives. We'll be sending in the last payment on our 4Runner in January, paying it off in about half of the loan term. Last car we will ever borrow money on, luckily it's a Toyota so it should run forever. We will then be debt free except the college loans as I'm still in school. We're starting on those next.

As long as we have testosterone, Stern will always pull a crowd :) For everone that outgrows him, he gets 2 new (younger) male listeners.
