Talk Radio: Whos your favorite?
Of all the national radio talk show hosts, whose your favorite and why? I just recently started listening to talk radio. I have to tell you, this MICHAEL SAVAGE guy is a trip. I mean, he hates just about everybody. Makes the drive home quite interesting since he comes on here in Dallas at 5pm and I usually sit in traffic for about 45 min.

howard stern gets edged out by adam corolla on "love line". sad i dont listen to much radio at night. i have to fix a bridge at night soon, so i will be catching up.
in the AM, i will stick to howard on SIRIUS. |
I've been listening to talk radio in one form or another for more than 30 years. Back in the late 60's, when I was young and naive, I used to listen to a hippie dude named Elliott Mintz on KMET FM in LA (I don't think AM talk radio existed then). Then in the 70's I switched to Ray Breme and Ira Fistel in LA on KABC. These were late night guys, conservative and liberal, respectively. Dennis Prager came along next, and I still listen to him today (now nationally syndicated). Back in the 80's during long drives I used to have to take across country, nothing passes the time like listening to talk radio. I used to listen to Bruce Williams, Sallie Jessie Raphael and Larry King (only on radio then). In the 80's there were lots lof liberal/left talk shows, but they died out (thankfully :)). Rush Limbaugh really started talk radio as we know it today. In the 90's through today I listen to (in order of preference): Dennis Prager, Hugh Hewitt, Limbaugh, G. Gordon Liddy, Medved, and Savage (for a laugh).

Armstrong and Getty (though they're not national) are the best I've ever heard. That Savage guy is downright scary. He's going to spontaneously combust on air one night.
Car Talk and Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me are my all-time favorite hour-long shows. |
Stern. Brandmier is back in Chicago--entertaining at times.

Randi Rhodes

Hands down, Rush Limbaugh. Absolute genius all around...The guy single-handedly breathed new life into the near extinct AM radio airwaves. He has birthed a renaissance of free speech and has created a new medium for many a career, from the left and right.

Leonard Lopate WNYC.
And could a Stern fan help me understand the appeal of thisman? I'vetriedto listen but I just don't get it. |
you never will then.
|
No offense intended--you either like him or you don't.

I Listen to Rush sometimes, Glenn Beck, Tom Becka here on local KFAB.
I refuse to listen to Mike Savage anymore though. He makes me so angry. I like the digital godess Kim Kommando. My favorite has to be Art Bell though. I listen to him on ham radio sometimes as well. He is on 3840Khz lower side band. He also started Coast to Coast AM. |
Toss up between Rush and Laura Ingraham. Her show is entertaining and funny.
Randi Rhodes is unlistenable, even if she were a Repulican I couldn't listen. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard, and her overconfidence is embarrassing. Basically she's your buddies horrible ex-wife that everyone jokes about:) |

what do you rush fans think about his hardcore, "deport all drug users to some deserted island" stand, and only to get caught lying about his own addiction?
