Traded Mazdaspeed3 for Mazda6

This is the first time I can remember I have not had a manual transmission car as my DD.

My new job has me driving all over LA/OC and driving the Speed3 in traffic sucked.

Traded it in on a brand new Mazda6. Gotta say, I am impressed with it. Has more soul than most anything in its class. Wish we had the wagon here in the US.

The 6 is comfortable, not all that anemic, and is somewhat fun to drive. Mileage is right at posted numbers, no more premium fuel either.

I get reimbursed for mileage, so it's essentially a free car, and then some.

I need to get the 240Z on the road!

If anyone is considering a Mazda6, I can certainly recommend it!

I mighta bought the Speed from ya.

Huge Mazda fan here.

Have had a few and they never disappoint.

Was in NY last weekend for a few days.

Rental was a Chevy Cruze.

Same class car as my DD Mazda 3.

What a POS.

Cramped, uncomfortable, lousy ergonomics, and woefully underpowered.

Another Mazda fan, we've had four and loved them. My little sister in law just upgraded from a 2005 3 to a brand new 6 Grand Touring, which is a damn nice car. Two other sister in laws have a 3 and 6. All fantastic cars.

On our third Mazda here. I've got my eyes on a 6 in a couple of years. We love our Mazdas. They really are more fun to drive than their competitors.

Still wish they'd import the 6 wagon. I get that there won't be huge demand, but THEY ALREADY MAKE IT!!!

Mazda's are undervalued....Don't understand why? My 1st Mazda car was a 1970 1200 Sedan.......On my 4th Mazda PU......All outstanding in their day..........

I've got a 2015 Mazda6 as my DD/commuter. Rated 40mpg highway. 10K miles so far, very happy with it.

Saw this one locally that looks nice: 2009 Mazdaspeed 3

Refresh the suspension and away you go. If you seriously want one I'd be happy to take a look.

I stopped wrenching on Mazda some years back (I'm a Mazda Senior tech) but I didn't walk away from the brand. They are some of the best values on the road, always have been, why they are not better sellers are a mystery for me.
Even the old ones that squeeked, rattled and leaked oil did it for decades.

Another Mazda fan, but have not owned anything recently. I had an '81 RX-7 that was flawless and an absolute joy to drive. Would love to have it back.

That said, why doesn't Mazda make a $50K-ish sports car. Something real, not a "sporty" econobox. I don't know much about the RX-8, but that is not what I have in mind. I mean something that would compete on performance and handling with the more expensive brands, similar to what Lotus did. Miata/MX-5 is certainly capable from a purely numbers standpoint, but that is not really what I have in mind either.

I don't know, it just seems like with Mazda styling, reputation and durability, if they could build a real sportscar, they would have a following!!

Hey... did you sneak into my garage and look at my Miata?

But seriously new gaskets and seals and she doesn't leak a bit... pretty sure squeaks and rattles are OEM on a 1995 Miata.

If they go through with the Shinari concept for the new 6 I'd be first in line.

Man, that "Shinari concept" is dead nuts gorgeous with hints of Jaguar and Tesla. I bet it wouldn't be cheap though, $60,000-$80,000 with 400 HP.

+1. If I could get a wagon with a 6 speed, I'd be trading in my 2009 3 tomorrow. And I really like the 3.

Any interest in a 08 SpeedGT with 42k? Completely original and unmodified. Purchased new by my dad and lived a good part of its life under a car cover in Florida before I liberated it.

I just bought a "brand new" E39, so the Speed should probably go. Needs nothing but a new owner...
