What's an INTEL chip doing in a Mac?

Gotta love Apple marketing.

Looks like all Mac users are now on the Dark Side.

My plan for world domination is now complete.

MacBook? Sorry, sounds pretty stupid compared with PowerBook.

I do like the line on the top, though.

The dark side was always Microsoft operating systems, not the hardware.

I said my life would be complete with the Quad G5, but... it'll REALLY be complete with the MacBook. Holy hell is that sexy or what??

Intel's dual-core notebook chips are really impressive. High performance, low power consumption. A big upgrade from PowerPC G4, even from G5. I can't justify replacing my fairly-new iMac G5, but I am pretty interested in the 15" MacBook (previously PowerBook) as our iBook is 5 years old.

Q: Since AAPL changed the "PowerBook" to "MacBook" to get away from the "Power" name, what will they call the Intel-based "PowerMac"? "MacMac" is a non-starter.

I heard "MacPro Tower" being thrown around on Mac forums, though that isn't official at all...

I think they should've stuck with the PowerBook name. I know they want to get away from the PowerPC chip and anything to do with "power," but it's a good name, especially for "the fastest laptop ever..."

How about this... AAPL closed at $80.86 today. Anyone notice anything ironic about that?

Probably not, but at this rate Intel's stock is headed for $2.86.
