Wait a minute ... I thought McCarthy was a hero of the neocons on this board. I could go back and find numerous posts testifying to what a great American he was, maligned by the "liberal press."

Now the same people that love and admire Joe McCarthy are using terms like "the modern face of McCarthyism" as the ultimate insult.

You guys need to get your story straight ... hero when it suits your needs, demon when that makes your argument. Intellectually bankrupt either way.

FTR Nathans_Dad, the next time you guys cook up another one of these conspiracy theories, let me enlighten you. That is against the forum rules. The administrator here can tell, right now as we speak, what IP address I have, what IP address slakjaw has, what IP address you have, but also each of our ISPs, etc.

One making a second account for the forum wouldn't last beyond a day or two. It doesn't take rocket science for the admin to figure out. Takes about 2 seconds.

Actually that's not a "libs" philosophy...that's a "libs" and "con's" philosophy. That's how politics workx for both parties.

If you can't see that, it's clear you're thinking with a biased mind.

I'd be happier if they asked questions with some relevance.

Yea, Republican or Democrat, wouldn't it be interesting to hear a question for a potential Supreme Court Justice like, "Tell us about your moral philosophy. What is it based on? What are some of your core beliefs about 'right and wrong'? How did you arrive at these beliefs?"

Really...

The Republicans are asking relevant questions in your opinion then?

From what I heard yesterday, the Dems are asking some good questions (some questions are like WTF kind of questions) While some Republicans are asking good questions a lot of them are strokeing eachothers ego's.

Alito dodges questions and lies for the same reason our elected leaders do -- because that's what the American people demand.

Anyone that tells the truth does not have a chance of being confirmed to the Supreme Court, or of being elected to the Senate that does the confirming.

It’s a fact of modern life, where footage of anything remotely interesting or controversial coming out of someone’s mouth is immediately beamed around the globe.

We elect and appoint leaders that offend the fewest number of people. Maybe this is an unavoidable by-product of democracy.

By the way, I know in my heart of hearts that if Alito ever let loose with what he really thinks about abortion, or women's rights, or presidential powers, or medical malpractice, or affirmative action, or a thousand other issues, there would be no need to filibuster.

The public outcry would lead to a withdrawal of is nomination.

So CC, was that you who suggested that Alito liked to "suck *****" or was that Slakjaw?? And if you and Slakjaw can post under each other's names at any given time, how are we supposed to know which of you to respond to??

Based on what's been said in this thread, if you can't figure it out by now, I'm sorry for you.

Have you ever heard of a mistake? I know, I know, it's more "fun" to cook up other crap.

Apparently my password was cached on his machine. That's how this site works, you know.

Duh, it won't happen again.

Man, you are sure getting upset about this. I would think you would be thankful that someone pointed it out. After all, the entire reason it looked a little strange was that those posts were very out of character for you.

Unfortunately this is the internet and people post under false identities all the time. So conspiracy theories aren't always that far fetched.

Now go take a valium.

Not upset. Actually, more incredulous that you could "imagine" something like that happening on a regular basis. Like you can't tell our styles or something? Not to mention, I would guess that too would be against the forum rules.

Don't need the valium. However, methinks you need lithium or something to end the constant "conspiracies" in your head.

As I pointed out above, even though it's the "internet", it is unlikely that would happen more than a day or two (time for him to notice) because of the tools Admin has to prevent that as well as to prevent spam accounts/posts and banned people from coming back.......

So that's one conspiracy theory you can put to rest.

Thanks for pointing that out Rick.

What would we do without the "internet police"

I think it's hilarious that here Slakjaw has posted on your account at LEAST 2-3 times in the last few days and you think I am crazy for thinking that people posting on each other's accounts is possible. Not to mention the multiple internet scams which we hear about every day. Nah, we should just believe EVERYTHING we read on the net, there are no conspiracies...

It's your own fault that someone else posted some pretty vulgar things under your name, don't take it out on me.

Not that it matters, but how does a guy in Omaha get your info cached on his machine when you line in Chicago? Just curious.
