Stop work notice

Background:

Bought this house a year and a half ago. Refinished the 80 year old floors, which had been covered by plywood & carpet, myself. Didn't like the finish with the lamb's wool applicator, so did the whole 1800 sq feet of hardwood, with a 4" brush... 5 coats.

I'm not a hardass... we wear shoes in the house. But Iinsist on LIFTING furniture instead of dragging it. If you want to move furniture around, by all means let me know and I'll help lift it.

I'm working from home today, and I notice this under all 4 legs of one of our couches, which probably weighs 250lbs (I'm not exaggerating):

Yep... kitchen backsplash still needs a coat of paint, and I'm supposed to clean the basement & garage this weekend. Instead, I think I'll work on that 911 longblock I just bought.

Yeah, you need little slippy pads on the bottom of any furniture that sites on the floor.

Rubber pads might be better - and help with the sliding.

They look like an family of skate wearing elephants lived there.
Circus families can be the worst....

Whose the note to?
That is funny because my Dad used to leave notes on stuff. It must have worked because I always make sure the water is shut off tight.

You've heard of Internet porn, right? You may be "needing" it.

I can empathize with the effort you've put into the floors, and the pride you have in the job you did. But I think you need to decide which you value more: Your wife, or the floor?

Can't relate. Must be weird to love your floors more than your wife. The taping off of the couch is.. um.. a bit extreme, in my opinion. What board is your wife on right now complaining about you? Scratches on your fu^king floor? Put it all into perspective, dude.

LOL... Looking back at the thread now, I didn't properly underlined the fact that this has been the source of good- humored ribbing between us, and that I had called her and declared sarcastically that I was "on strike". FWIW, I don't think I ever stated that I loved the floors more than her.
And actually it went over fine, she got the point. She promised she wouldn't drag the furniture when she moves the furniture around.
Her response when she saw the note was: "So you won't be needing dinner then?"

It is the heaviest friggen couch I've ever seen in my life. Two men struggle to lift it.

So what is she going to do???
