				reccomend some good brandy

I've learned that living in the high desert equals very cold evenings. Kicking back with some brandy to put some warmth back in.

Was curious if anyone could reccomend some good brandy to try out? Last edited by Jared at Pelican Parts; 01-15-2006 at 10:32 PM.. |

Louis 13 is always good but pricey. Try a good single malt, Maccallan is tasty.

Gran Marnier on ice, sitting in the hot tub works very well.

Try a good cognac or as alf suggested, a good single malt..MacCallan(very nice) or Oban if you prefer an oakier flavor.

However, in some circles, folks consider a "Brandy" to include Cognac's. Try several and if you need ANY assistance in evaluating the different blends, I'll be more than happy to lend my services....

Martel is your friend. I use the VS for cooking but it's drinkable. The VSOP is quite nice.

Not sure if I'd call it brandy, but Drambuie is great stuff. Pour about two ounces into a big snifter and take a big whiff. Very smooth going down too. Sort of a liquorice & heather flavor.

With Cognac's, I sometimes pour an oz or 2 in a snifter and place in the microwave for 30 sec's. Really brings out the flavour and aroma's.

Half-fill a snifter with hot water. Let it sit for 30 seconds or so to warm the glass. Pour it out. Pour a couple of inches of whatever you deem appropriate into the snifter and cover the opening with a coaster or whatever you have available for another minute.
