SOTY: Sniper of the Year?

maybe we should also honor the ones w/ the most determination/luck/gall as well?

(this needs to be backed up w/ some thread as proof... either by sheer quantity or something remarkable like an 8 second lag between post and "purchase response"?)

Sorry to break it to you, but 36 seconds barely qualifies as sniping any more on Ebay - if all. If you are going to win a competitive auction, you need to be in within 5 sec's or so. Many people utilize programs that will snipe for them.

Just to f__k with the system, I have used a stop watch and manually kept the bidding busy to ward off the autosnipers. It might work, it might not, I'm not a fan of the Bay anyway. So, my purchases total a dozen, or so. Frankly, I won't live in a world that works that way. (So, I live in MY world.)

Glad someone is complaining. I'm not so all alone.

Question

"Flipper of the Year can't be a category, there is already someone who has already won the Pelican Lifetime Achievement Award for Flipping, thus retiring the category forever.

This guy was such a flipper that like any addict, he came out and admitted it, in a (failed) effort to beat it.

In his most recent relapse, he posted a WTB ad for a particular model of 911, saying that he was looking for it to keep forever, not to flip. He found one, then posted it, with glowing praise and pictures, and, in his words it was "The One. The one I have been searching for and will keep forever." And of course was on Pelican Cars for Sale within 6 months.

That was funny."

I'D VOTE FOR JASON CULLEN AS FLIPPER OF THE YEAR!

Cheers, to you Jason!

or when he made a bid on my 8x9x15s with someone (who didn't know about PP) already lined up and willing to purchase them from him for $500 more than his bid. He actually admitted that.

Or when he bought the dash here for under $500 and posted it on Craig's list within the week for $1250.

Hey all! here's the latest, and likely short term object of my affection...87 Carrera. I've been backdating it. Went with blue graphics, and color matched the wheels since this one has the dark blue interior. MA Shaw ducktail was a no brainer, and color matching original paint in GP white was also very simple. Was going to lower it, but after steam cleaning the wheel wells, I just couldn't. They are so clean and the taller stance gives it more of an original period look. Anyway, it's off topic, but I like to be a part of the threads that are about bashing me and flipping. So many others now buying up your parts and reselling them that I have lost interest for the most part unless it is for my personal use. My 86 Turbo look Cab was the best I have ever come across. I truly did think I was going to hold onto it for that reason, but it was done. Nothing to fix up. I am enjoying the cars like my newest 87 much more. A blank canvas that I can make special and unique. Anyway, all my best to the pro flippers who have much better people skills than I did. I of course support it, as did Wayne here at Pelican, support me when you guys were whining a few years back, and I still love this site. My 1 star ratings seem to bring more attention to my want/sell ads and I still continue to have 100% success here. All my eBay aliases have 100% feedback, I have never cheated anyone, refused to take anything back (never had to) or harmed a single baby seal with my purchases here. Cheers to all the familiar pelicans on this thread, you may be left wing, anti free market, not understanding of the principles of supply and demand, but I still love you.
Merry Christmas!!!!!!
