I guess I mean the Rennsport DE (PCA club for Ottawa and Montreal).
BTW, I was born Canadian and just became a US citizen this week! Now I am... what...bi-polar or something I guess!

Jay - there is some possibility that if you get stopped anywhere in the US for anything, you might get to talk to a judge about that Can. ticket. ... just be aware of that.

re Canada & politics -- there a lot of people in the US who don't like the war, the pretext for entering it & etc. -- even if they supported it when we all thought it was a "WMD sanitation effort" - so lots of US citizens like Canada, even if they don't spend a lot of time speaking out about it.

And remember this, it's not the individual states that pushed for reprocity, after all, there's no real revenue to be generated by this information sharing. It's your favorite buddy, the insurance companies...

Now that this has moved to OT – in more ways than one . . . back to the off-topic topic . . .

The reality is that most Americans know little to nothing about Canada other than it is to the north & it’s cold & some of us speak French. Oh yeah & Toronto is clean, Montreal has great bars & Vancouver is beautiful. That’s it. Even American weather maps stop at the border. We are a non-entity. Not even important enough to be irritating. An also-ran in the great geopolitical scheme of things to most Americans. Not all, of course, just most.

I work & travel in the US almost weekly, so I have heard it all.

The next level of knowledge is: We have mad cow. We are an avenue for terrorism. Our military is non-existent and/or comical. We have a Queen. Our ‘Frenchies’ are always upset. And our skiing, hunting, fishing & beer are pretty good.

And I too am a dual citizen (by birth) & have always felt free to criticize both countries, although I decided to show restraint on this forum even though . . . well, enough of that . . .

Ian

As an American who lived in Canada for 10 years, I will say that I love both countries. Canada is one beautiful country, and Canadians overall are very nice people. I could be very happy living there. I will also say that the majority of Canadians have a pretty obvious anti-American mindset. Most Americans on the other hand, dont give Canada proper respect. It is too bad for both of us.

Misguided opinion??, Canada bashing??.... First of, I'm not American, secondly ,I'm not "bashing" Canada, I'm bashing the lack of communication between Canada and America from both sides. Being a little touchy Ehh.

ahh, the simply beauty of not blowing out one's economic brains in misguided crusades...

I also note that China is now Canada's largest trading partner (whereas Canada is still the US's largest trading partner). So hate to say it; aw - no I won't.

But that weakening US dollar is sure creaming our poor oil profits guys; so smarten the heck up, will ya?

Yes.

I got sucked in. I should know better, but the Anti-Backbacon Brigade seems to be increasing in volume of late.

I've seen you get sucked in too . . .

Purry,

Funny how your graph mirrors the quantity of parts I've bought from Pelican over the last few years. Hmmm.......

Laugh if you want, but take your own advice seriously. I was almost turned away from the border after an 8 hr drive because I had a traffic offense over a YEAR previously in my HOME STATE. The way it works (according to the border agent) is that if you are convicted of an offense in the US and penalty for the offense differs between the US and CAN, they can bar you from entering on the grounds that you haven't fulfilled the proper punishment in THEIR country. This is EVEN if you have completely fulfilled the penalty in the US...

For example, (not my case) extremely reckless driving in my state can result in a suspension of drivers license for 6 mos and driving school. In ontario (as a hypothetical) it's a felony and is subject to license revokation or a fine or even jail time. Even if you've already done the 6 mos and the driving school and have your license back, they can bar you from entry because it's a more serious crime there.

Strange but true, at least that's the gist of it.
