OK, beer question.

Big difference. Beer on tap is best, by far. Go to a good microbrewery or to a pub in England. You'll notice the difference. Also, it is imperative that you dring beer from a glass, NOT from a bottle or can. You need to smell as well as taste the beer.

Absolutely true, must drink from a glass- preferable from a tap. Ironically, with all the bashing that cans get, they are slowly starting to be accepted again as a suitable means for storage. They are technically superior since they allow in zero light, and that is ultimately what diminishes beer over time...still can't see pouring a nice Belgian ale from a can though...

I use to agree, till I got a couple flat glasses. Man that taste just sticks with ya No risk of flat with a bottle, but yes good draft is really good!

Some tapped beer is also nitrided (sp?) or nonpasteurized. Nonpasteurized beer will have a more complex flavour while nitrided beer will be smoother due to the fact that nitrogen bubbles are smaller than CO2.

Depends on teh beer. Guinness from the tap, or a can with the widget, or a bottle with a widget all tastes the same - heavenly. Same with Boddingtons - although I can only find the wigitized cans. And there's a reason Guinness developed that widget... tap vs. can/bottle does change the taste.

Bottle or tap. too many places don't keep the draft system clean for tap to always be the best.

but it's a trick question, and cannot be answered by saying this is better than that

for one thing

when it comes to normal pils, every brewery has local sites
every site is different

heiniken for instance , is better abroad than in holland
it's still piss, but it's better piss outside holland

guiness is better in dublin, and according to the cabdrivers
it's even better in a low key , old brown pub than in a fancy pug in temple bar area


for another thing, some beers are better in the bottle , some are better from tap

Jupiler , belgian pils , is better from a bottle, on a sunny day , while doing manual labour outside

Leffe, is better from a tap

all tap beers, are only better from a tap , if those taps are actually beeign used regulary...

a certain beer will be better from the bottle , than from seldomly used tap.... but it will not be better from a bottle , compared to an active tap.

then there is the glas
dutchies have stupid lemonade style glasses for pils beer
it's redicioulous...

beer glass should fit the beer

but at all times, it should have provisioning to make sure you can hold the beer , without warming your beer with your hands

I usually like tap best, and drink ales and stouts. Bottles are fine. Don't like cans at all.

Only exceptions - bottled Guiness is uniquely good, as is canned Sapporo Black.

Any good Ale , Weizenbier, Porter or Stout in a bottle. When working on the car, digging in the yard plain ol' Coors in the can. I used to homebrew, but been too busy lately.
