Sheehan arrested on the way to the SOTU

Cindy Sheehan was an invited guest of a Congressperson, but I guess the Bushistas thought having her there was too much of a risk, so they arrested her one hour before the SOTU.

It just gets more surreal every day.

"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Peace activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested Tuesday in the House chamber after she unfurled an anti-war banner just minutes before President Bush gave his State of the Union address. "

Doesn't sound like an hour and unfurling a banner at the SOTU is kinda crappy.

Actually, it was the Capital Police, so Congress Detained her. Fox reported that (as of 9PM EST) she had only been detained, not arrested.

I have a hard time believing security was so lax that she could have brought in a 'banner' but we may have to wait for the facts.

If the prelim report is accurate she entered carrying a banner or something that is prohibited. So the invite would be dependant upon her following the rules. I would think.
