My Superbowl tradition:
1). Apply rub to barbecue meat of choice the night before and store in fridge. 2). Wake up at 8 or 9 and get the charcoal lit in the smoker. 3). Once the smoker is to temp and smoking with wood of choice, put on the meat. 4). Sit around on my deck the the rest of the morning and have a beer or two while smelling the goodness. 5). Barbecue comes off right before the game. 6). Sit and watch the game while dining on some great 'cue. This year I will be doing some apple smoked baby backs. 2-3 racks. YUM.

Usually, I would be snow boarding with the kids in past years. However, my son came down with ulcerative collitis and is at home now recovering. All his buddies from school have been invited to come over for the game with mommy and daddy providing pizza, chips, and beer. One of the guys is from Seattle and a diehard seahawk fan.
Me, I just like to see a good game, good execution, zero turnovers, few penalties.

Funny, a couple of years ago my wife asked me to stop washing the car on the driveway during the Superbowl. She was afraid the neighbors would see me and "talk".

Took off mountain biking for a few hours before the game. There's a lake about 30 minutes away that I especially enjoy riding round. This time I took off on some other trails. Found a couple of caves, but no lights to explore. Have to bring lights next time.
And visited the Bigfoot Trap. Years ago some "researchers" got a fistfull of $$$ to study bigfoot. They actually built a trap that is still standing. Quite sturdy. They did not catch any bigfoot (bigfeet?). This is definately not something you see everyday. Came home in time for a quick shower and then watched the Seahawks lose. Nutz. Should have stayed on the bike longer. angela

Bolted on the new 2 inch receiver hitch on the ATV which enabled the use of a towing hook. Used the ATV to skid trees out of the woods and yard to the middle of the pasture so they can be cut up this week. This ATV is strong, limited by the grip of the tires as to what it can pull.
Lots more deadfall to go, and not a few pines to remove and dispose of too. I'm thinking about a used band mill to make them into cheap lumber for various low grade construction projects around the farm. |

It was a beautiful day in Florida, so I took to Targa top out and took the P-car for a cruise.
I stopped off at Home Depot and ordered the supplies I need to build my "Hurrican Proof" fence. Four eight foot sections cost me over $300. I am sick of repairing these same four sections over and over so I have designed a fence that will stand up to the abuse. (another thread with pictures next weekend) I stopped off at Pet Smart and picked up some stuff for the dog. Then cruised some more. I took the 3.6 to redline through second and third gears. I need to do that more it felt really good. I was invited to a Superbowl Party but it was out of town, I passed. I ended up watching pieces of the game. My son wanted to watch, even though he never watches football normally he was sucked in by the hype to watch. I watched a movie with Anthony Hopkins in it called The Edge. Really good movie I highly suggest it.

I got the SC washed up and photographed for the new insur. co., got a ton of stuff moved into my new storage garage, relished going to an empty gym around kick-off time, delivered some gun parts, savored being the only person in my favorite pizza place and went home to do sudoku puzzles, drink Maker's Mark and watch the Military Channel. Haven't had this much fun since Christmas Eve, when everything was also empty around here.
