I'd expect the insurance company will pay for the bike and your medical bills without a lot of fuss. It's the other stuff where they'll try to protect their bank account. A good lawyer will probably have a list of things to ask for that you might not have considered... lost wages while in recovery for example.
How much should you get for pain and suffering? The other insurance company is likely to make you an offer that sounds attractive but will be less than what you could have received and when you sign the check you're waiving all future claims. The big issue in my mind is the future. What if you sign off on future claims but months from now discover that you're going to limp for the rest of your life, need additional surgery/physical therapy?
