new James Bond - Total girlie man

First the guy gets two teeth knocked out during the first fight scene, now he's sunburned and complaining about that, plus he can't drive a manual, so the Aston had to be converted to an automatic...

This guy has no business being a james bond. Maybe when he's done he can get a nice cooking show or a place on "what not to wear".

Craig has revealed he can only drive an automatic car — so the traditional Aston Martin DB5 had to be converted.

And he previously confessed he doesn’t like guns, while speedboats make him feel queasy.

He will be remembered in the lineage of George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton.

Well, maybe he can ski and scuba dive.

.....And fly airplanes.
.....And parachute.
.....And bungie jump.

But not liking guns? Does he like girls?

Yeah, but Lazenby wasn't a girlie man. This guy is definitely a girlie man from the sound of things.

Sounds like he wanted the prestige of the part, but not the work that came with it.

What English guy doesn't know how to drive stick? I thought everything was manual over there.

I dunno, I really liked him in Layercake. He wasn't a super tough guy, but he was a wheedling antihero, kind of like Fleming's original Bond in the books (though I admit the book-Bond could dish out the smackdown too.) I'll give him a shot.

By the way, anyone see Pierce Brosnan in Matador? He played a self-destructive hit man who just didnt' have it together. He was outstanding.

Why couldn't they teach him? Is the production schedule really that stringent?

I learned on a 911, and in 30 minutes, I could get the car moving from a stop. It wasn't pretty, though. Give him a day or two, provided he doesn't get "exhausted," and he could've done it.

Tim Dalton was not a girly-man. What other Bond confronted a bad guy soaked in gasoline and set him on fire? He drove the V8 Vantage too, if I recall. I think his movies were highly underrated, some say they were close to getting an R rating due to all the shooting.

The new "Metro-sexual" James Bond!

This all started when they changed the ""Brawny towel" guy.

Lazenby was in the best Bond movie, period.

I really liked Timothy Dalton, both his movies are excellent. To me, they had more of a serious edge to them, especially after years of that Roger Moore tongue-in-cheek humor..

As for Craig? NOT Bond material. I still cant understand why thy didnt get Clive Owen, who would have been PERFECT.

On another note... How about favorite Bond girls? My top three..

Barbara Bach

Carey Lowell

and of course, Ursula Andress

i read an article where pierce brosnan stated that he 'couldn't drive a stick' either. i can't recall if he said he had to learn or of they provided a manual..but i recall at the time that a bond character not being able to drive a stick was unbearable. i rank it up there with when they cast people like the first guy who played batman (keaton is a great actor..but a superhero?) and that other milk-toast fella who played spider man..toby maguire i think it is? sheeesh. if you're gonna cast a 'superhero', give me somebody with some goddamn muscle at least..who cares if they can act, the whole deal's about special effects of superhuman powers anyway..not acting supremacy. i'm out..

For me, Goldfinger was the best Bond movie.

I'm thinking Daniel Craig will make an excellent Bond. He was good in Layer Cake and Munich.

So they're using a DB5 in the new movie, not a DB9? I wonder what kind of automatic they stuck in it? The original automatics were not very good, I've heard.
