And Rush - hey I'm Canadian, it's in our blood, not if you want old unknown (Canadian) music that is unreal - Frank Marino and Mahogony Rush, but I am dating myself

Isnt Frank Marino the guy who thinks he is the re-incarnation of Jimi?

God I love Rush.

Im more partial to "Fly By Night" myself, though "Rivendell" sucks pretty badly.

I really don't see the appeal of "Red Barchetta", that song is hella lame.

I listened to 2112 every day of graduate school. When I got on the bus for the 30-minute ride to school, I would put on headphones and crank it up, and arrive at school refreshed and ready for class. 2112 does a great job of clearing one's head of cobwebs and useless garbage.

I have favorite songs on all of their albums. I like the way they point out the poignant moments and foolish ways of life in this time-specific society we live in, and I also like the way they create other realities and other possibilities. Subdivisions, Limelight, Red Barchetta, The Trees..

When I hear Working Man I always think of my dear departed father, and his long years of sacrifice. Here's to you, Dad! :)

Know wat you mean. For me, that album was the Who's Quadrophenia

As long as I am dating myself and (some of us) are talking about simple but very good music there was a documentary on Dave Davies last night... I don't think I would have survived my 20's without the Kinks and the Who... can you tell I was a loner?

OK- so those who are into PF "before they were big", have you seen the "Live at Pompeii" video? Absolutely the best Floyd I have seen. I haven't seen it in a couple years, thanks to not having a VHS deck anymore. I hope it eventually comes to DVD.

rammstein 03-10-2006 03:56 PM

That spurred me to see if it ever came out, and IT DID!!! Awesome.

Hee hee

Saw that at a midnight show in a theater in downtown Hollywood when it first came out, it was in "quadrasonic" :D

I would like to see the DVD... but I'm not sure... uh... I could recreate the experience if you know what I mean ;)

scottmandue 03-11-2006 07:28 AM

WTF for ten bucks I'll buy it... but I better not watch it alone, someone will have to tie me to the chair just in case I start floating around the room.

rammstein 03-11-2006 10:19 AM

One time when I was watching it the whole room went 2 dimensional, and the sounds were coming from behind the couch.
