Poll: Republicans Are Happier Than Democrats

The Pew Research Center recently updated a question about happiness that the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago has been asking since 1972.

In every asking of the question, ROLL CALL reports, Republicans have been happier than Democrats.

Republicans tend to be better off than Democrats, and that is one explanation for the happiness gap. But when the researchers controlled for household income, Republicans at all income levels were happier than Democrats at those same income levels.

As for ideology, conservative Republicans were happier than conservative Democrats, and moderate to liberal Republicans were happier than comparable Democrats.

Ignorance is bliss???? Just kidding.... actually, I'm a registered Republican, but am absolutely disgusted (and have been for a long time) with the current administration. I don't like the Dems any better, but did vote for Kerry since I thought he was the 'lessor of the two evils'....and that in itself is a scary thought!

FWIW, I'm happier than a pig in ***** most of the time, (except when I read the news). Funny that someone should say Hummer; it is the perfect vehicle for Bush supporters. A big phony POS that is truly good for nothing, all clad up in plastic to look like something it's not.

Hrm. Not realy sure where to start. For one, his policies towards having Isreal give up its hard fought land. Imagine a country telling us to give Texas to Mexico? No U.S. president should be telling Isreal to give back the Golan Heights for sure. I'm a little *little* more lenient on the West Bank, as it was Syrian's coming through the west bank to hit Isreal, not those from Jordan.

Secondly, I see a big push for a bigger "badder" government. Also a lack of standing up to the whiney mouthed democrats.
