I have had this song in my head the past few days. "Get It On".
It's NOT Power Station with Robert Palmer. The band I'm thinking of was from LA, I believe. They were touted as the "new Led Zeppelin". They had a ballad(who didn't) that made it on the charts but I can't think of the name of the song. They were out around the same time The Bulletboys were. Any ideas?

I remember Kingdom Come's one song (AFAIK)- they managed to synthethise what could kindly be called "reminicenses" of Black Dog, Kashmir and Moby Dick into it. And if that escasped you, the posturing was a dead giveaway. Remember thinking it was good stuff at the time. Werent they German tho? Last edited by stuartj; 03-14-2006 at 07:42 PM.. |

You can poke around iTunes and hear samples of several songs with that lyric.

You guys are good!!!!
Thank you. I think they WERE German. cool. Holy Crap!!!! They are still around!!? "What love can be" was their ballad. Man, I loved James' drum sound on that album. Big and deep, just like Bonham's, only a better mix. oh, sorry about the "old" comment. I'm in that group, too.

Kingdom Clone.
I remember seeing an interview with them were they denied they were a Zep rip off. They actually had the balls to claim that they had never even listened to Zeppelin. How is that possible unless you lived your entire life under a rock on Mars? Had one of those "Old Guy" comments one day. Sent my video editor to the music store to pick up a few very specific items and at the last minute asked him to grab a good set of cans. I step out of my office for a few meetings and when I get back I've got a few voice mails. 1st one, my video guy. He, with the help of a salesman, has looked all over the store and can't find cans anywhere. 2nd voice mail. "Nevermind, we found some "Old Guy" in the store who knows what cans are. You could have just said headphones". Scott

Bloody Germans. Although Austrian, you have reminded me of Falko "Der Kommisar" und "Rock Me Amadeus"....now it's all stuck in my head and I must deal with it.

Some of that German stuff could be really dark and angry sounding. My sister brought back some music 15 years ago that would make Death Metal sound like kiddie music by comparision.

My favorite "Get it on" was by Bill Chase. Anyone remember them?
