Question Old School Tools

Just got this tool storage setup at Sears tool sale. Oh Yeah!!
Here it is next to the unfinished workbench project that was halted by the salt water aquarium cabinet project...

Anyway...
So I am emptying out several tool boxes into this beast when I come across an ancient box of rusted tools that belonged to my father. There not in real bad shape and I want to hang on to them. You know some of the best tools are old school tools right.
What can I soak them in to break the rust before they move in to there new home??

I'm a nut for old tools, as well.
Post some good photos/descriptions of yours, please.
I'll let you know what I use for rust, etc.

I'm curious as well.

When I go to clean out my father's storage space this weekend, I know that there are some of my grandfather's tools in there. I think some date back to the 1920's.

I don't think I have enough of that, and most of it has been absorbed by lint.

Mineral spirits or any degreaser with clean off the ATF. I had a bunch of old pipe wrenches that where so caked with rust they wouldnt budge. I soaked them with liquid wrench, then sat then in ATF for a couple of days. Scrubbed them with scotch brite to clean the rust off.

I'm big into old tools, especially old planes and other woodworking tools.

Check out this old school finish nailer. No safety anything. You can pull the trigger and shoot your friend with it.

Its over 20 years old and still works perfectly.

Here is a quick few odd critters that are in need.

Pliers I found under my 911's seat carpet. Inscriptions are in German. Looks surgical kind of...
