Speeding save lives
Someone may have posted something similar but here goes.
In Los Angeles we have those big message boards on the side of the freeway that give you traffic info like "accident at offramp 23 right lane blocked" etc. Being that Saturday morning traffic is light they decide to put up a little inspirational message: Don't speed It saves lives Maybe this is the new plan to deal with overpopulation?

The faster you drive, the less time you spend on the road, thereby reducing your exposure time to a traffic accident.

Traveling faster through space time in relation to the earth will slow the aging process for those traveling at a high rate of speed.
Haul ass and gain an extra .0000000001 seconds of life.

The sign is political crap.
Lives lost per mile driven is lowest ever. And relatively slow speeds on hy's cause a greater speed differential between cars than if everyone was driving at the 82 percentile. The less differential the less death. ps: "speeds" should be speed limits

I think I saw that same message tonight on the 405 on the way to the boat.
I was going pretty fast at the time, and didn't see all of it, but I think that's what it said. From distant horizon to overhead all I had a chance to read was...... "Don't " It went by so fast I didn't get to read the rest. Thanks for filling me in. |

This whole thread makes me feel better about going 95mph on my way to pick up Indian food this evening. Straight bridge a mile long....no traffic...it would be just WRONG to go slow....

If everyone drove the speed limit though, the limit would not be as dangerous.

I don't think I saw it if it was flashing... it must have flashed off while I roared by it.

I got up to 105 today in the X-5 on the Road from Aldama to Ojinaga. Average speed was around 95-96 for about 120km. Sweet road. No one. Oh, except for 1 small spot with freaking cows. Fence was broken.
It was a crime to have to slow down once I was back in the States.

There is a difference in political crap related to speed limits in different states. Most states leave the driver tense while driving and some states enable the driver enough peace of mind to be courteous and responsible while still being able to drive as fast as what makes the roads comfortable.
Texas seems to have nice hy's but the HP is a pia. Other northern states can be just as fast but more relaxing to drive through. All imo. btw.. the high end super duper sport Mercedes that was involved in the Calif Ferrari acident racing a few weeks ago does that area at over 200mph somewhat routinely.. routinely meaning the driver changes exotics depending on his mood. Both cars were doing 200+.. don't ask me anything.
