Anyone looking for a turbo charged time machine?

Ebay item number 4623211079

Or, if it works...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4623211079&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Not really my cup of tea, but kinda cool- I think I'd get bored of the questions about the flux capacitor and how many miles to the pound of garbage does it get.

Anyone ever driven one?

Cheers,

Paul.

LOL! I guess the one featured in 'Back to the future' had a 350 in it.

Bell - I always had a soft spot for the Dodge Charger/Omnis Turbos. The Chargers were, IMO, sort of like a poor man's 944, but FWD.

What's the details on your old Omni and the next one you'll build - if you don't mind me asking.

GLH, easily one of the ultimate sleepers.

Yeah, so much of a sleeper, Bell seems to be unconscious that I asked about it and his plans for his "next."

i had the glh in the post above for a few years, i bought it off of as friend who used it for autocrossing, was stripped of all sound deadening etc, weight just under 2000 lbs dry.
after i bought it i converted it to TII (intercooled/bigger manifolds/LM) and dynod around 300hp/250tq.
when it finally rotted out (like most mid 80's dodge's do) i sold it.
then i bought a shelby charger "project" got it 90% done with another TII conversion and sold it this past sunday.
sitting in my garage is an 88' daytona shelbyZ engine which i am going to rebuild completey to put in a future omni glh, should put out around 300hp also, if i switch to a common block (89' and newer 2.5 4 cyl, forged bottom end) i'll be able to pull out about 400hp with the right cam/turbo setup.
the TD stuff is pretty simple to make big hp.....but not as much fun to work on as the 911....which is where the $$$ from the charger is going

Sweet! Yeah, the Dodge FWD cars were cool in a rough n' ready sort of way. Can you get most of the go-fast parts from Mopar?

Had a conversation not too long ago with a DeLorean owner in the parking lot of a 7/11. Spent some time checking out his car. Sure, they arent that well made, they are slow, and they dont make any sense, but its a damn nice looking car... I'd like to have one someday

They're slow, but there was a turbo kit available to them in the early 80s that made them on par with Turbo 911s. How well the DeLoreans lasted on boost, well....

dd74,
this one has a BAE turbo- is that the same as the one you mentioned? Low miles too- I wonder if the turbo will detract from the originality value? Currently the bid is $15,300. I always thought they look cool- with the exception of the mis-matched front end. I heard one of the first shipments from Ireland sank to the bottom of the Atlantic!

Cheers,

Paul.
