Bump

I see "bump" used a lot in the forum threads. What does it mean? I'm from down under and I have never heard anyone say bump unless you bumped into someone down the road. I guess it's an American thing or something. Can someone clue me in.

Any other slang I should know about as well while your at it.

You'll notice that new postings to this board go to the top of the page. All previous postings are pushed down the page and, eventually onto the 2nd page, then the third, and so on. Replying to a post puts it back to the top of page one, thus "bumping" it back to the top so people can see it.
