Brain teaser for aviation buffs and pilots.

Can you spot the mechanical problem?

It looks far worse than it really is. Nothing structural is damaged. It lost the honeycomb sandwich panel pieces of the cowl, but the drag link running down the top of the strut is intact. Probably scared the bejeezus out of some passengers, though. I heard it landed safely.

It was from "Fletch". He beat me to it. I was going to say something about the 7th Fetzer valve.

I love that movie. Good one procon!

No, no no....it was Jeff Spiccoli, in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" After he was involved in trashing Forrest Whittaker's Z-28.

You guys probably do not want me to dive in my collection of aviation photos... but here are a few that I found right away.

Note the #1 (far left) engine making contact with the runway. This is at Hong Kong.

SISTER MARY FRANCIS!
Joe,
What was the story on the 747 with the blacked out tail fin landing (at least I assume it's landing, they've got everything hung out, including the barn door.) The photo ID just says decompression. Was it a test flight, or were there people other than the crew on board?
(That had to hurt the eardrums!)

They say you are safer flying than driving to the airport.

Three times safer flying than driving to the airport. Its a proven fact.

Les, believe it was a decompression test but not sure. That would blow eardrums out for sure and would love to hear how they protected the crew.
