Tom DeLay - Surrounded by Felons
With DeLay's Deputy Chief of Staff pleading guilty yesterday to corruption charges, the body count of Delay staffers and associates headed for prison continues to grow. Rudy's plea deal portends more indictments to come.
Has there ever been a sleazier office on Capitol Hill? From our friend Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo: A lot of people talk about Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX) being crooked or unethical. But considering the veritable lion's den of corruption, self-dealing and criminal conduct his office turns out to have been, I think the truth may turn out to be that he was something more like a paragon of virtue. It's just hard to figure out how else he could have worked day in and day out with so many of his key staffers and lieutenants being confessed felons without DeLay ever having gone over to the dark side, as his lawyers suggest. As DeLay's lawyer Richard Cullen told a conference call of reporters today, "Tom DeLay was [not] aware of the wrongs that Mr. Rudy was committing. As long as people are telling the truth, Mr. DeLay has no fear about this investigation." So run down the list. Key DeLay-wired lobbyist Jack Abramoff -- convicted felon. Michael Scanlon, former DeLay aide and spokesman -- convicted felon. Tony Rudy, former DeLay deputy chief of staff -- convicted felon. Ed Buckham, former DeLay Chief of Staff and pastor -- implicated in Rudy's plea, up front costs for lobby shop funded by Abramoff clients, helped funnel Russian oil-KGB money to DeLay, Inc. Spokesman, Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief of Staff. A few aides here and a few aides there, and pretty soon you've got a whole org chart. When you put it all in perspective and stop seeing through the distorted prism of the liberal media, you start to understand DeLay was a veritable Gandhi-with-the-virgins or the one good man in Sodom when it came to ethics. -- Josh Marshall[ |
One a bug exterminator, always a bug exterminator

Yea, the Clintons just killed everyone they did not like. Delay makes them squirm a while beforehand...
|
Not sure I understand. Are you defending DeLay? Making a joke? Changing the subject?
Are the Bush Repubs still behind this sleazeball? I'm curious. |
DeLay rocks, I met him a year ago. Should I send him your love next time I visit his Congressional office Rodeo? I'm hard pressed to think of anyone who's kicked more Dem ass in the last couple decades.
|
What exactly did Delay do that was so egregious? It is not as if he squanderd public teasury by obstructing the judicial process, in a sexual harassment lawsuit, because it was a better option than facing criminal indictment for campaign finance violations and treason...thank Satan that the media and Janet Reno were his whores or else maybe we could have imprisoned a real scumbag.
|
He kicked a lot of Dem ass, that was his crime.
|
So what exactly is Delay supposed to have done? All this innuendo and character defamation is tedious...not to mention dishonest. Just the typical liberal tactic of repeating half-truths and mis-characterizations until their low IQ minions believe them.
|
Perhaps Fint, perhaps.....
But you know how the old saying goes....you are the company you keep....... |
I have fantasies of DeLay getting his tray slapped to the ground in chow line in the joint, and having to put on an apron and clean it up. Then crying on uncle Dick's shoulder in his cell that night.
One can dream. |

Lets not forget one of Clinton's chief apologists, Robert "Rolex" Torricelli, who silently stepped out of his Senate seat for receiving kickbacks in the form of grandfather clocks and Rolex watches...Gee, I wonder why that got the memory-hole treatment by the media?...Could it be because he was a Democrat?....nahhhhhhhhh!

That's quite a tactic. If you defend a politician that has sold his office to the highest bidder, you are as bad as he. |

How about instead spending the time trying to make your party and the country better. The hours you guys spend on "Bush is at fault for ever mistake in the world" crap would be a lot better spent trying to do something productive. You are not going to change most of our minds with this drivel but at least doing this you would be doing something productive... |
ANother thread slam dunks a minority congresswoman for a slap, even advocationg a lynching. Where is the fairness in judgement? Is someone automatically evil simply because their political party, religion or basic philosophy differs from your own? Perhaps a little realization that we are all humans with faults would do us some good.
"He who is without sin, cast the first stone." "Now ma, cut that out!!!" |
Stop w/ the fair and balanced stuff, Bob. They don't like that. ;)
And Joe, Rodeo only has about 6000 posts to go before he's spent as many waking hours as you on this board. "Pot? This is Kettle calling"... |
I thought they were all criminals.
Does anyone have the email that was sent around with all of the Domestic abuse/DWI/drug/solicitation/fraud charges that our current senators and congressmen have accumulated? I tried to Google it so i could post the text here but I cant find it anywhere. |
Nah, Denis
I'm "fairly unbalanced" to ever think I or anything I say would make a dent, so I just have fun!! |
