1. Not only drop gun control from their agenda, but adopt a strict interpretation of the Second Amendment as protecting an intrinsic right to own any weapon. 2. Drop their anti-business policies, particularly those that prohibit small businesses and favor large ones. 3. Drop their income and inheritance wealth realocation policies. 4. Stop the class warfare crap. 5. Stop the religious support of the monstrous Franklin Roosevelt and his terrible American fascism. As soon as they do those things, they'll be elected in droves and show the Republicans, who were born in corruption, the door. |

It's tough to list them in order, but I'm particularly proud of the repeal of the Assault Weapons Ban in 1996 or 1997, the passage of Meghan's Law, the Impeachment of Bubba, the passage of the Balanced Budget Amendment in '95 (failed in the Senate thanks to Mark Hatfield), the passage of Bush's tax cuts in 2001. Does this get you even more excited?

The spin is settling down and the reality is setting in. The millions Dems spent attacking DeLay has more than likely cost them a seat in '06. The general belief is that ANY Rep other than Delay will walk over the Dem challenger in that district.
A classic case of be careful what you wish for ![]()

The DNC, Nancy Pelosi, Campaign for America's Future and MoveOn.org have spent plenty of money (though not in the millions) with my company, issuing press releases attacking DeLay. I sure wish those were my accounts. Alas, DeLay's office was my client and I've lost him.

Meghan's law I'm not particularly familiar with, so I'll look it up. Just as I thought, another usurpation of state power, so this is nothing to be proud of at all. The Impeachment of Clinton could have been good, but for the fact that they impeached him over trivial matters, but left his gross violations of office and anti-Constitutional behavior alone. Now that we see the actions of Bush, we know why. There are no tax cuts, only shifts in where the taxes fall. The only true tax cut is one where the revenue going to government is reduced. Anytime total tax revenue increases, that's a tax increase. True tax cuts reduce the amount of money sent to government by all tax sources, since as we know, the payer of all taxes is the individual American. |

As Rick points out DeLay was a focus point or lightening rod for fund raising for the Dems. Anti-DeLay ads have been running in Texas pretty much non stop courtesy of non-texas sources.
Do you pay any attention to this stuff or just pop in for the occassional insult and/or ignorant comment?

Pat, the House DID repeal the AWB, but it never even got a serious look in the Senate. Plenty of stuff that passes the House dies a quiet death in the Senate.

Rick,
Can/Will DeLay transfer his campaign money to his replacement or is that not allowed? I'm not sure what the rules are.

Len, DeLay can do just about anything with his campaign war chest except keep it for himself. I'm sure he'll create a PAC or two and dole it out to GOP candidates, as most of them do.
Hunter, you're kidding right? You think the media are covering up for DeLay? Have you read some of the crackpot press releases I'm talking about? I read all of them and I pray for more. It's more money for my company and it makes the folks who issue them look like complete idiots. Dean and Pelosi are truly the gifts that keep on giving. For me it's a double dip.

Delay has very little money. The money dried up the same time his influence did.
Nothing but bugs and bars for his future. Couldn't happen to a nicer fellow. Oh, Rick. Cutting taxes when you don't have the honor or decency to cut federal spending is not something to be proud of. Everyone blames Bush for the sorry state of our budget deficit and national debt. He showed a lack of leadership on the issue, no doubt, but Delay and Frist are the first tier felons in that regard. They ate through the surplus and destroyed, completely destroyed, any sense of fiscal sanity in our country. Our children will pay the price. DeLay should go to jail for that alone.

Well Rodeo, I never said I loved anyone in Congress because of their spending (except for Tom Coburn). But you asked about some of the bills I was happy about. Disect it anyway you want. Dems would not have spent a penny less.
