I think it's pretty obvious to all that you're full of **** by now.

Well, let's leave it at that then. Tom Delay is a fine American that was just unfortunate to have a close friend, wife, and several staffers knee deep in the biggest Washington corruption scandal in decades.

Stay the course.

No, lets leave it at you being the kind of guy that flat makes things up to support his causes. That's where we'll leave it.

Rodeo 04-04-2006 06:43 PM

Oh ... I thought I was the kind of guy that wouldn't look up readily available information and spoon feed it to you.

Anyway, stay the course. We're still good on that, right?

As for the golf trip to Scotland, if you read the details, it's pretty obvious Abramoff reimbursed a 501(c)3 for that, which, while illegal, was not done prior to the trip. So there's no way DeLay could have known about it. Yes, it's a technicality. But you can't say DeLay knew a lobbyist was paying for it. As for the South Korean concern, they registered as a foreign lobbying agent a few days before the trip, which also would have been impossible to know about before the trip. I know facts mean nothing to the DeLay haters, but they matter to federal authorities (sometimes).

lendaddy 04-04-2006 06:45 PM

You're embarassing yourself.......again.

lendaddy 04-04-2006 06:50 PM

Rick,

Is there anything with Christine DeLay I've missed? I can admit being wrong, no problem. Any claims of her receiving money I didn't mention?

Rodeo 04-04-2006 06:51 PM

Oh, and Rick, in addition to your being wrong about Rudy not comitting crimes until after he left DeLay's office, you are wrong about DeLay's campaign funds. B y dropping out of the race now, he just converted $1.3 Million in campaign funds to his legal defense fund.

What a sleaze.

All this *******ing around with Daschle's wife makes you seem like a little girl.

What's even more stupid is you wouldn't have even posted this if Rush's or some other apologist media slug hadn't dug it up today to make you feel all good about your felon buddy Delay.

Neocon trash? I'd wear that as a badge of honor, if I considered myself a neocon. But since DeLay's wife made a very meager salary in a charitable capacity and is still villified for it, I just wonder why the knee-jerks weren't so offended by those who made FAR more in a real lobbying capacity on issues their SO heavily influenced. Luckily, Thune ousted Daschle before any legal case could be made of it.

BTW, since I work for a news agency and don't listen to Rush (other than the band from Canada), I get this stuff from news sources, not talk radio.

WTF? He was able to use campaign funds for legal defense as a sitting member of Congress. They all do this. Who do you think pays ALL their FEC lawyers?

Rodeo 04-04-2006 06:57 PM

Just correcting your earlier statement that he could not convert his campaign funds to his criminal defense fund. He can.

By dropping out now, he gets it ALL, not what's left over after a hard and expensive campaign.

Like I said, what a sleaze. If I was a contributor, I'd ask for my money back.

Good grief, you make my head hurt. Here is Ricks' earlier quote:

He is allowed to use campaign funds for legal defense. But in the unlikely event his coffers run dry, he'd have no problem starting a separate legal defense fund and filling it up easily, as Lewis Libby has done.

I should add that our party knows what "IS" means:rolleyes:

Rick Lee 04-04-2006 07:00 PM

When did I ever say he couldn't convert his campaign funds to legal defense?

lendaddy 04-04-2006 07:01 PM

Sorry for jumping in Rick, but how much stupidity can a guy take?

Rick Lee 04-04-2006 07:01 PM

BTW, how do you think Cynthia McKinney is paying for her lawyers?

Rodeo 04-04-2006 07:06 PM

My mistake. I misread your statement.

By giving up her seat in Congress and diverting 100% of her campaign funds to lawyers?

Rick Lee 04-04-2006 07:11 PM

Uh no. By keeping her safe seat and using her campaign funds to pay for her lawyers. Though she used her House expense account to pay for Issas Hayes's trip to DC.

Was it Scientology related? That could be a new angle in slapper-gate. :)

EDIT: Now those creepy SOBs are gonna come after me for typing that word.....
