Supporting Rumsfeld and the Bush Admin is the same as opposing our troops. Supporting people with no clear plan who are directly responsible for men's and women's lives affected by no clear plan is the same as giving aid and comfort to our enemies.

By your logic, we shouldn't have supported Roosevelt during WWII. Who could argue that he got us into that conflict with a clear plan and exit strategy?

The fact is, no one has ever, ever gotten into a war with an exit strategy. Gulf I is the only exception.

In WWII, we were attacked without notice. the War in Iraq is one of choice, meaning you really pretty much have all the time in the world to plan, and indeed, Shinsecki (sp) spelled out a good plan with enough troops to get the job done.

For political reasons, he was sacked, and the Military has paid the price for poor planning from the civilian branch ever since.

I think our exit strategy was similar to Shinsecki's: pour as many troops as we could into the war to ensure victory. The opposite was done in Iraq.

I don't agree with the lack of an 'exit strategy' for WWII. Our plan was to put the Japanese back within their own borders, and eliminate the German war machine. In both instances, the postwar occupation was long planned and (from the distance of decades) operated very smoothly. This is a fact despite deperate efforts of the neocons a couple of years back to claim occupying Iraq was just like occupying Germany.

No, he doesn't like to have his actions questioned. He is one of the worst Sec. Def's in recent history, a collossal failure; yet he motors on.

No American should support volunteer troops who are continuing to commit one of the largest war crimes in modern American history.

I don't know, CC, but the head guy, the one that "wrote" the book about the whole thing and was a Republican darling and on Sean Hannity's show quite a bit, has been a paid Republican political hack for over 30 years.

Now me, I don't like John Kerry, he's the reason the Dems lost the election pure and simple. If they had had a good candidate, they would have clean Bush's clock for him, but they didn't.
