Especially if you're driving with tubes/valves.

I got into audio when it was being called "Hi-Fidelity." :)

Remember "pre-groove feedback" on some LPs?
I had friends who'd buy 3 LPs of one favorite/special (to them) artist.
They'd play one regularly, one for "special occasions", the third one to remain sealed forever.
The ole 'stylus raping the grooves' concern.
They'd let the grooves to return to their previous configuration by "resting" the LP for a day or so.
That whole audiophile scene got pretty anal.

Me too...I recently pulled out all my old Kingston Trio LP's...the ones I played hundreds of times on the old stack 'em up turntable of a RCA single speaker "hi fi"...ohhh, LOTS of groove noise there! But the songs still come through. "Oh send my mail...to the Tijuana jail..." ;)

ZOA NOM 04-24-2006 10:27 AM

Try this before the flames:

Delilah by Tom Jones

tell me you aren't singing it at the top of your lungs by fourth gear.

pwd72s 04-24-2006 10:32 AM

Ryan, can your equipment still play Cassette? If so, PM your snail mail...when I get around to it, I'll make a few tapes for you. A "hot rods" collection Rhino put out a few years back...every song about our love of the automobile.
