Wait a few more years until I get on my feet and I'll be your first buyer in line. Not to hijack your topic but what kind of convertible, 997 C4S. I just don't see a Boxster in your future.

Todd,

A real R bike? What the heck does that mean (speaking simply out of pride here)?

While I don't really care for the whole Harley trailer bike scene either, how about an older beemer with a sidecar? I am sure you could find a sweet one, that would run forever...

One of the Einfields would be cool too. I think I remember seeing a thread on them recently.

Bill

An Enfield would be cool if Motion were, say, 15 years old and not allowed to have anything with more than 35 hp.

He has a Harley right? i would say 35 hp might be a step up.

Just joking guys.

I just mentioned Enfield cause it was different, along the same lines of the pic..

Thats the style of sidehack that I am going to put on my BMW. Several Depnr's around where I live and everyone likes them. Fair parts availability over here and lots of fun to ride.

I driven a sidecar bike, a BMW as a matter of fact, and I would never own one. The idea of leaning left in a right hand turn with a right hand side car does not instill confidence. It's not so bad with a passenger, especially a big one.

Didnt realize they still sold them here. All the places that sold them around stopped a few yrs ago. Yeah the technology on them seemed pretty 40'ish.

Vin, If interested I'll double check. I'm assuming they're still dealing these as there's always a Ural on the street in front of the place. They sell/service other makes as well.

Did anyone see the big boned side car racing woman showing the weight shifting positions on the Speed channel? That's the way to get viewers, low cut top, big boobs and laying all over the place. It was funny as all heck, I thought something was going to pop out and a hunrgy child would be fed.

Motion, it needs Zebra stripes.

The sidecar sort of defeats the purpose of a bike in So Cal. . . no lane splitting.

Went and drove it last night. Pretty cool setup. Looks like 40's technology, but a few phone calls this morning tell me that there are plenty of sources for parts. And cheap, too. Complete carb assys are $40!

I dig the whole Russian army thing... Lili grew up in a sidecar hack that her dad rode. Would pretty cool to have one here for around town putts. Might just go for this.

I like it.

The sidecar has plenty of room for "We Buy Houses!" bumper stickers.

I would dirty it up a little bit. Beats a Harley any day.

I have a Czech buddy that I ride with all the time; he grew up in Czechoslovakia through the '50's and '60's. With a couple brothers and a sister, an old Harley army bike with a sidecar was their "family car". It was all his dad could come up with. There were thousands left behind when the allies went home. The more "equal" in the local communist hierarchy got the abandoned Jeeps and trucks. My buddy escaped in the early '70's for a better life here. Still rides a Harley, too.

Hey, if you can really get parts (you will need them...) then go for it. It would be a fun rig, ownership problems aside. If you don't have to depend on it a lot of those issues become moot.
