He's a friend. I talk to a bunch of these pelican guys and girls on a regular basis beyond giving them ***** on line.

What part of CT are you in?

hunter914 05-04-2006 09:43 AM

Greenwich.

M.D. Holloway 05-04-2006 10:13 AM

I was in Cos Cob when the bridge fell in.

cantdrv55 05-04-2006 06:18 PM

Hunter914's posts remind me of Shaun's. Same guy?

Scooter 05-04-2006 06:43 PM

Can someone tell me if it is smart for a guy (assumed) with tenure of less than a year on this board and 155 posts to his (or her) name, to ridicule a long time respected contributing member with over 5,000 posts?

My vote is no.

M.D. Holloway 05-04-2006 09:30 PM

most interesting??? Prehaps it is a social experiment

Thanks for showing the good and generous side of Shaun.....

It just shows that Shaun...is Shaun...and everything is marketing. It does not make him a better person to anyone that he did not send a gift to.....and it sure doesn't make up for attempting to screw over another Pelican. If he really wants forgiveness, a simple heartfelt apology would be much more effective than trying to buy some friends.

I would have to agree.

bigchillcar 05-05-2006 12:36 AM

yeah..i try to limit my name-calling to guys with fewer than 4,500 posts.. ;) so guess that means i can mess with you, scooter, but may have to wait 6-12 months before i can legitimately screw with fint. :D

I don't know if you read all the posts, but it goes way farther than that, much longer than that, it appears he's been anonymously kind and generous for some time....

To market, you need to let people know. Read the first two pages of this thread, it wasn't about "marketing." No one even knew these things except the recipient.......

And I don't think any pelican was "screwed" here. Messed with, yes, but screwed? No.

Jim Richards 05-05-2006 03:41 AM

there's tenure on this board? excellent!

cool_chick 05-05-2006 03:44 AM

no, apparently it wasn't on the board before. that's the point....

Shaun @ Tru6 05-05-2006 04:06 AM

You guys all really need to get a life!

If one thing is apparent from this Board, then it is that there is no correlation whatsoever (except perhaps an inverse one) between the number of posts someone has and the essential value of that persons contribution.

Some people just have far too much time on their hands.

So my vote is Yes.

If it were anonymous, we would know about it now:

anon·y·mous
Function: adjective
1 : not named or identified <an anonymous author> <they wish to remain anonymous>
2 : of unknown authorship or origin <an anonymous tip>

He got himself into his little bet by trying to screw a long-time fellow Pelican and got the bad press afterward trying to screw another long-time fellow Pelican. No matter how much you try to redine it....he was/is a jerk...and has made no attempt to make it better other than to pay his legal debt....which was probably just to protect himself legally.

cool_chick 05-05-2006 05:02 AM

....which was probably just to protect himself legally.

Fintstone, if you genuinely believe that, I have oceanfront property in Kansas to sell you.....

There was no legal recourse here...... The judge would've laughed that straight to dismissal.....

Scooter has a point. First of all, the name-calling is just bad manners....but for those with little or no contribution to the technical content who only come here to call names is really poor judgment...that you would almost never see in any forum except the internet....where there is really no risk of retaliation and the normally nadless enjoy the first little bit of power in their pitiful life...

On the contrary, there was certainly legal recourse....and I most certainly believe it. Not to mention the bad publicity to his business interests.

I hate to break it to you, but that oceanfront property you bought in Kansas will be difficult to sell.

LMAO

Yeah, tons of teens and their mothers read porche boards.....and judges hear cases regarding bets on a daily basis....

Here it is for you to purchase Fint....
