We're going out for dinner, but going to an Indian resturant.

Oddly enough, the only businesses I saw closed were the ones owned by immigrants and frequented by illegals. More like they're punishing themselves economically. Reminds me of when the rioters burned down their own neighborhoods and had to look at it / live in it for 5years.

I spent some time making note of the local businesses that were closed and that I willl never do business with again.

I noticed almost no one tried to use Tijuana road rules on the way to the valley today, and that not once did anyone try to kill me on the bike. Hmmmm. Like the only people on the road today all had studied the DMV codes, passed the driving test, had drivers licenses, and were properly insured.

Is there a hint there?

Looked like maybe 15-20% of smaller businesses in my area were closed. My friends who employ 'immigrants' told me that everyone showed up today for work.

I hear the freeways were pretty clear. I also heard that there were still day laborers standing in the usual spots, available for work -- but a lot fewer than usual. I didn't see any of the usual catering trucks out today, but I wasn't out much, either.

The L.A. port was closed today, according to one of the local 'yell radio' stations. They had correspondents at one of the demonstrations with maybe 300,000 people and sounded disappointed that there were no 'incidents.' They said Geraldo Rivera (born Jerry Rivers) was riding through the crowd on a motorcycle for some reason.

When I drove by the NoHo subway station, I saw three young men getting out of a fairly new Land Rover with Mexican flags. They gave me kind of an embarrassed look.

My parents went out to lunch with some friends. Drove from Hollywood to Monterey Park. They commented that the freeways were as empty as they were 20 years ago. Got to the restaurant 30 minutes early (!) and killed time grocery shopping.

Hmm, no impact here. Maybe next time they should go for a week. And if that doesn't work they should extend to a month, and if that doesn't work they should extend for 3 months, and etc.... Eventually they'll show us!

There were a couple of mexican restaraunts closed so we were forced to go to Togo's, which was healthier anyway. So I guess this walkout actually helped me.

Two Mexican restaurants in this one horse town. One was closed...the other, run by a LEGAL Immigrant was open. Guess where Cindy & I go when we crave Mexican food?
