Every single one of those happened when the chip-induced richness exploded the fart can.

masraum 05-09-2006 01:42 PM

apparently it was a silver car only track day.

I'd go with the chip/fart can issue except for the NSX. My guess is the other two ran into the NSX after their farts can exploded.

Link does not work for me.

Is there a story here? Did they all meet up somewhere on trck?

Jeff Higgins 05-09-2006 02:15 PM

Everybodies' worst fear. I hope everyone was o.k. It's hard to say from the photos, and the link does not work for me, either.

Every organizers worst fear. Imagine all the reports that need to be filed with that.

The events I attend (non-PCA) at the drivers meeting they make it clear their goal for the day is for everyone to drive their cars home unharmed.

Unfortunatly the offenders usually skip the drivers meeting. :(

That SUCKS looks like Pocono Raceway...

bigchillcar 05-09-2006 03:08 PM

Link fixed:D

Who's idea was it to put the paddock next to the (live) racetrack? Makes for very expensive armco...

nostatic 05-09-2006 06:48 PM

were they gridding for the next run session, or just parked? Either way I don't understand what the cars were doing there. At all of the tracks I've run on, if cars are gridding while the run session is hot, they are in a hot pit behind a wall.

At least it's only Fried Rice.........

Kinda of a bummer. It figures that the least desirable car of the three would be the one to cause all the damage.

masraum 05-09-2006 06:50 PM

Yowza, car bowling.

Yep, no need for tire walls when cars are available.

Wow; all that nice, wide open, flat runnout totally negated by some moron that decided to either allow or require participants to park there. I hope whoever made that decision winds up buying three new cars. There is just no excuse for that.

Racerbvd 05-09-2006 08:16 PM

I got the other info on why they were parked there.

Quote:

There were "staged" for the next run group. They were waiting for the beginner group on course to come off so they could be released off the stage lane onto the course for their session
Now we know why they were there.

hey look a petition to sign to ban him!!
http://www.petitiononline.com/b6s4/petition.html

Jeff Higgins 05-10-2006 05:07 AM

But he is not the one who hit the other cars... and he is the one they want to ban?

So what kind of idiot decided to "stage" the next run group in a run off area? Wouldn't it be ironic if it were the same guy that started the petition? Maybe a little embarassed?

I think if I were asked to stage my car there, I would invoke the F1 option of starting from the paddock, thank you very much.

widebody911 05-10-2006 05:32 AM

WTF? That's like arresting the guy who taped the Rodney King beating...

This is a petition to Ban "IFLYSOLO",an Audi S4 owner from participating in any future Track/Autocross events in the North East. We feel that he is a very dangerous driver and the roads are not safe with him around. This is especially proven in a video captured from his car during a track event in which a total of 3 cars were totaled after which he defies his instructors orders to get away from the scene.

Jims5543 05-10-2006 06:07 AM

I watched it with no sound. I will have to watch again. I have to ask what the S-4 did that was so dangerous? He pulled over to where all the staged cars were parked. It was not dangrous for them to park there why cant he?

I personally would be more upset with the clown that staged cars so close to a hot track.

The guy in the S-4 just showed a lack of class and respect for others.

I have pulled out my little pocket Digi at the track to take a pic of a crunched car (as well as lots of pics of nice cars) and hesitate every time. In most instances I do not take the pic out of respect for the owners privacy. I have only taken pics twice of crunched cars and there was a good reason to.

artplumber 05-10-2006 06:10 AM

Don't kill the messenger.... Looks like he just reacted as if on the street, you know, "pull to the side" well short of the accident. First part of video he was a little out of shape.

BTW how do you guys think that accident happened? Just looks like the Mitsu has the left side off-track and then suddenly heads for the waiting line of cars.
