For similar money I'd rather have a later V8 Esprit.

I'm not sure we'll be seeing sub-$20k Elises or $25k Exiges any time in the near future.

A friend and I went to the local Auto Action(he has a dealer licence) last month and there were 2 Elises that sold for sub $25,000 tags. They can be had for this price.

Hey Nick, what kind of condition were those Elises in?

If good examples can be had for these prices, I may be driving a Lotus in the (not so distant) near future!!

Not bad at all, needed to be cleaned up and tires but all in all in good condition. If I remember, they were around 35,000 mile range. I think they were lease cars. If you want to go, let me know and I'll get you into the OS or Sanford auction.

Funny to see this - I've been thinking about it very hard, since I don't drive any of the cars in my sig.

I'm in S1 Elise money only though, or maybe S2 but not the new Toyota engined one. I don't care - the key for me is the 700kg.
