gas prices
I was just contemplating gas prices. So what, I say. I can afford gas, no matter what the price and it keeps the riff raf off the road to boot. My children can afford gas at 10X or even 100x the current price, so what the F do I care what gas prices are??? Most Porsche owners can also afford gas, at highly inflated prices, and would also appreciate the lessoned congestion on the road. Why all the *****ing?? Wide open roads are a godsend, not a curse.

Gas prices aren't that high when compared to Europe, and others seem to think as much since the roads (in L.A.) are as congested as they were when gas was $2.50.
Hence, don't celebrate clear roads yet: others appear as well adjusted as you. ![]() BTW: there are two Xs in Exxon. ![]()

So we'll have roads full of spoiled brats with entitlement complexes driving mommy & daddy's SUVs. Wonderful. Just what we need.

You guys have been spoiled with ridiculously low taxes on gas. Way past time for a leveling out with the rest of us poor buggers.

it's a blessing that gas prices have no impact on any other good or service we purchase.

Sadly, energy demand is inelastic in relation to prices (the ol' supply/demand curve is flat rather than declining). This means that no matter how high gas prices go, people will still buy it because they need to travel. Poor people simply buy less of something else.

"too many SUVs."
I think that what snow is getting at is, be happy you can drive your gas guzzler, now with fewer road obstacles (riff-raff econo-boxes). YMMV

Just went on a 914club weekend get together in Arizona. Drove 1100 miles just for the hell of it.Route 66 if you want to see pictures.
Premium gas from 3.99 in CA to 3.19 in AZ. Go figure. Watched the guys with 4x4's towing 400hp boats going 80+mph and SUV's going 90. RV's towing trailers full of off road vehicles, etc. I pissed away 50 gallons just for a lark, so imagine how they did. Europe's gas prices don't stop the believers from doing 130+ in their AMG's at 10mpg. At some point it may hurt enough to stop, but not yet, I guess.

I don't like the feeling of being ripped off, and I certainly don't like being taken advantage of. A few weeks ago the price of oil jumped a couple of bucks and, as a result, the price of gas went up about twenty cents. Now the price of oil has gone down and demand has dropped. If that wasn't enough, it was reported that there is an excess inventory of fuel. So why hasn't the price of gas dropped? Each time this cycle occurs oil companies post enormous profits, which I normally wouldn't mind as I'm all for making money. But the oil companies are now taking advantage of american consumers. I think this is one big scam job.

Europe's gas is cheap. It cost about the same as ours, in fact. What makes it expensive out-of-pocket are the enormous taxes Euros pay. Anyway, it's all semantics. Really, if it hurts that much, alternatives exist: I suggest triangles made out of Tru Temper, Reynolds 853, or Columbus tubing. ![]()

Talked to my mom in MN. today, gas is 50 cents cheaper than here. They are just milking the living schit out of that profit tit called California. Bastards.

I wouldn't say it the same way as jack, or for the same reasons, but I'm personally not upset by high energy prices. I don't know what else will push the US into buying more fuel-efficient cars and developing alternative energy sources. I'm not sure $70/bbl and $3.00/gal will, but it is a start.
I admit I currently don't drive to work, can afford to buy gas for when I do drive the 911, etc. But you can buy a decent economy car brand new for <$12K MSRP or a good used one for less, so most of the people struggling to buy gas to fill up their SUVs do have options. The guys who have to drive big pickups for work, unfortunately, don't [have options].

Why did Europe pass the high gas taxes? Wasn't it supposed to do something to help relieve their dependence on foreign oil? Seems to me the only thing is has accomplished is to rip off the gullible Europeans, big time. Suckers. You have paid thru the nose, and for WHAT??? Did they lower taxes when gas prices shot up? No way.
Who the fuk cares how much gas my suv uses??? I am the one paying for it and I will continue until all the riff raf stops driving. What makes you god and in control of my driving habits? I may have 10 kids and two race cars to tow, so my suv may actually be the most efficient way to travel. Actually I have 8 cars (someone please buy one of them from me) and can choose the one that makes most sense for the application. I just dropped off 10 kids at the beach and am driving back home, alone, in an suv. But you think I drive alone all the time in an suv. You don't have a clue. Its none of your business. And fk you anyway. Green bastards are snobs, jerks and know nothing of how the world actually works. They should do the world a favor and commit hairy Kari.
