Being 1976 30 years ago, I'm guessing it was pitcher Ed Haliki of the Giants catching a line drive bare-handed off Manny Mota, then doubling up a Dodger on first to end the game in a 1-hit shutout of the Dodgers. It was about 1976 anyway. Amazingly, Haliki also caught a line drive in the eight (with his glove) and doubled off a runner at first to end that inning.

Probably not what's supposed to be linked here, but that's one game I'll never forget.

BTW, Ed Haliki was (still is, I guess) 6'-7", and he had to stretch high to catch both line drives. Not the Dodger's day.

I remember Kirk gibson pinch-hitting in a world series game one in 88 when he was so injured he could barely walk. He hit it out and won the game against oakland.
To me, that will always be the best play ever.

I remember that one too... however I think our friends on the east coast may not agree.

Just got home & watched the video - very cool. Thanks for sharing. I hope the cops did a number on those two asshats with black rubber hoses and socks full of quarters in the back alley.
