Wow, just took a look at Apple's site and the new iMac looks like just the thing! Basically just a screen and a keyboard/mouse. Amazing they can get an entire computer into the same space that a standard flatscreen monitor takes up.

Just bought two 17 inch MacBook Pro over the weekend for the kids in college. Even thinner than the last 17 inch Powerbook.

I was in the Mac store that opened in ...Soho was it, some nearly 3 years.

They had the new widescreen flat screen LCD moniter. The Sales guy was so happy about it.

It was nice. Great resolution, Processed fast. No glare.

The way it was setup it was like a picture, it had 2 tabs at the bottom, and a kickstand out the back.

I told the sales guy its a peice of junk. Its not remotely adjustable, You need a 1/2 acre of deskspace to set it up. Its a LCD so you have to some how jury rig it to the exact right space, as you can't set it so you look at it from anything more than a 40dgree angle. Its the nicest peice of stupid design I've ever seen.

I was a mac tech for nearly 9 years. I'll never own one.

Actually it's the same.

I have both, the 1.5 PPC and the new Intel. Intel is a smidge wider.

Here's a screenshot, Windows XP running under Parallels. Windows is VPN'd into the corp network, Exchange is running.

On the Mac side no VPN, straight connection to the net.

Both OS's are using the sigle built in Airport.

Windows resolution can be adjusted up/down using the standard Windows control panel, can even run full screen if you want.

Pretty cool.

I'm running Parallels so I no longer have to carry the work issued.

Scott
