Murtha accuses Marines of war crimes

A Democratic [Murtha] lawmaker yesterday accused U.S. Marines of killing many innocent Iraqi civilians "in cold blood" after a Marine comrade was slain by a roadside bomb.

Officials have said 15 Iraqis, eight insurgents and a Marine were killed during a Nov. 19 firefight that began when a roadside bomb detonated next to a joint Iraqi-U.S. squad patrolling the city of Haditha.

But Rep. John P. Murtha of Pennsylvania, a retired Marine colonel, said at a press conference yesterday that a Pentagon war-crimes investigation would show that "there was no firefight."

"Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood," Mr. Murtha told reporters. "And that's what the [Pentagon] report is going to tell."

Murtha is correct, of course, the evidence is overwhelming that they not only killed those people, who included 6 children, but they covered it up with false reports for several months.

The whole invasion was and is a war crime, however, one can hope that the little fuhrer-decider in the White House will be in the dock right alongside those Marines when the time comes.

So you, like Murtha, agree that the Marines in question are guilty before trial?...You, like Murtha, agree that Memorial day is a good time to spread anti-military propaganda? His comments are not only out of context, but they are uproven and maliciously used for political purposes at a time that he should have shut his fat liberal mouth. The image Murtha was shooting for, by shooting at our young men in the Marines, is that our military is criminal; that this is a military wide problem. Murtha is seeking to not only do us and our military damage at home, but he is seeking to further harm us throughout the world. Murtha knows the effect of his preconceived indictment, an indictment used simply to slander and belittle our military...Murtha knows that even if the Marines are exonerated, the world media will not retract the vindication, nor will the American media...Murtha's words, erroneous or not, will be used against us.

Happy Memorial Day murthafuker.

On Memorial weekend, Murtha should have said nothing more than "Our military men and women aren't perfect, but they are damn fine and our country should be proud..." He could have went on to describe our great military and the sacrifices they and their families have made...He did not...He used his weekend to denigrate our military and cheapen their memories.

Fuq-U Murtha!...Fuq-U

Yes, the Marines are guilty, since I'm not on the jury, I don't have to hold my decision until the end of the trial. The evidence is overwhelming.

Since you're defending the activities of one of the worse liars ever to live in the White House, that's an irony filled statement.

Murtha is a very Conservative Democrat, much more so than almost any neo-con.

Compared to the damage done by the Bush'ists, anything Murtha could do is insignificant. The real truth is Murtha's statements are improving the reputation of the US government, too bad it's much too small to matter.

That's a very positive thing.

Used against the US government is a good thing, it enhances the safety of Americans.

Huh - a Mul/Fastpat debate.

Seems a lot like a matter-antimatter reaction. There's a lot of energy released, and it will probably result in a black hole, but it still just doesn't make any sense.

There is no debate here. Patsy is defending a traitor. I accept that. I expect no less from his virulent strain of libertarianism.

Murtha's slander was uncalled for on Memorial day, or any other day for that matter, but especially Memorial day...Murtha intentionally drives down morale and undermines recruiting, and then highlights low enlistment (due to folks like himself and his buddies in the media) rates for partisan gain...He conveniently forgets that RE-enlistment rates are high, suggesting that the military he mouthes support for are not on his page.

Patsy...You disgrace our military. You should be ashamed of yourself. Your rhetoric serves only those you oppose most. You are a tactical fool and endanger our great country.

You Mul are a liar and distorter. That story by the Moonie paper is dated May 18, not Memorial Day weekend. Go spread your lies elsewhere. If you would ever take the time to listen to Murtha you would hear him blame the Bush regime for keeping our brave men in a position of peril that they end up taking such action as this. Go spead your filth and slander elsewhere.

You're right, he's a liar. What Murtha really said this weekend is that our military covers up the 'killings'.

Yes, that's correct, well supported by the facts. Think about this as well, there's probably 100's of these crimes that go undetected for everyone that is discovered.
