Whats my outlook? We are all gona die!

M.D. Holloway 06-09-2006 07:47 AM

I've never been afraid to die...but I just got over my fear to live!

trekkor 06-09-2006 07:51 AM

See, the point of my question was for you to prove to yourselves that death is all that man has to look foward to.

But, there is a way to avoid death.
I'll have to quote the scriptures again...And you don't like that.

John 17:3
John 3:16
Psalm 37:10,11, 27-29

For starters

I take the time to share with y'all the only solution available and I'm the bad guy?

OK.

Prove to me (without quoting scripture) that you can avoid death and we'll talk.

You're delusional if you think you have "the only solution available". The level of your brainwashing is impressive.

no thanks.

It's "carousel" or nothing for me.

svandamme 06-09-2006 08:28 AM

Trekkor , why are you preaching here?

i mean, it's not like mother Theresa spent her days in the lobby of the Ferrari dealership in Bombay now did she??

if you wanna do what the good book says you should do , then i think it's time to sell your ****, give everything to charity , and become a misionary/relief worker in the 3rd world

i'm sure that would be a true test of faith , not this driving around in yer 914, while preaching from your couch on a Porsche BBS.. and selling tiles...you obviously think you are gods gift to the heathens... well, if you are that good, and your faith is that strong, then put it to good use, and go to a place where the living standard is not as high , and make some serious sacrifices...

be like Mother Theresa in India
or father Damian in Haiti
maybe you could go to Somalia? or Sudan?
or any other place where there is hunger, sorrow and pain
go and stand up for those who can't fend for themselves

and do it without judging anyone, just be a giver, without demanding anything... not with an attitude of "i'm right, do like me or suffer the consequenses"

if you are so righteous, and filled with the Spirit of God
and you are so sure that heaven will be yours, then you have nothing to loose by doing so, and everything to win

you can quote all you want, but none of your quotes disprove what i just said
seriously...

Can't do that, sir.

No one can. Apart from what God is offering, there is no hope.
I'm sticking to that.

As to brainwashing, well if you mean I'm free from all the time I'd spend focusing/thinking/involving myself in man's feeble attempts at world peace, then...

Thank you!!

I thought this was OT forum.
This not a tech forum.
I don't give my convictions there.

In fact I thought I started this thread.
So I guess my question to you would be, why are you reading it if it enrages you so?

You can block me or choose to ignore me. That really doesn't mean anything.

You have the choice to do as you please.

I've seen some of the rant/political/policy/racial/patriotic threads here... And on the tv/radio/newspaper/public protests.
I don't get involved in those. My comments would not be appreciated there.

I limit my comments to upbuilding ( hopefully ) and non-judgemental. If I came across that way, it was not my intention and I apologize.

The Bible has always been there. Why do so many view it as useless?

KT

svandamme 06-09-2006 09:01 AM

i didn't say you can't preach here
didn't say it enraged me either

i was just suggesting something that should be inline with your faith...

i asked you why you picked this place, and why don't you do the real missionary thing like the examples i mentioned

if your faith is that strong, then you could be the next Mother Theresa

in fact, the Bible says you should use your talents instead of wasting them... the story of the old man who gave some money to his sons for a year... one blew it , one invested, one dug a hole in teh ground.. (i don't remember what quote it was, i'm sure a bible geek like you knows exactly which one i'm talking about )

so , your gung ho faith... off you go ... Sudan needs you...

Moneyguy1 06-09-2006 09:12 AM

Stijn

There are other posters for whom those words could be applied.

What trekkor says may not be totally applicable here, but at least he is polite. That I appreciate. Compared to some posters, it is a breath of fresh air to see a believer who does not insult, denegrate, or belittle.

Whether I agree or not is irrelevant. It is the tone and demeanor that I respect.

Don't think you are a bad guy. I know you want to get the point accross and it is well heard. The thing is (and this isn't from you per se) is that in the past several hundred years folks have been hit over the head with Bible speak. It works with some but turns many others off even before they even consider the message.

Nobody wants to be banged up with fire and brimstone babble. If you can take sometime and break it down into common lingo, show a correlation to daily life, provide real world examples of who this worship helps and benfits others and just keep an open mind when somebody else wants to share their ideas as well then you might actually be doing Gods work.

The reason why fat scat can't establish any consideration is that he is 1 dimensional as well. At some point the quotes and cut-n-pastes loose their effectiveness.

problem is the people who belive in the fairytale
and belive it is the ONLY SOLUTION
are a clear and present danger to every one on earth

as they may try to hurry the end
that they think is their gods will
and will NOT do everything possable to stop a disaster
like any rational person should
because theys see it as a sign of the end times

I fear not the invented god or his son
as the unreal can do no harm
but the followers who can be fool enuff
to try to make a 2000 year old fever dream
come semi-true
and saddly while the god is made up
the followers are all to real

RPKESQ 06-09-2006 02:18 PM

The future is very bright. Most generations feel that the upcoming generation is sadly lacking. Of course this always is proved wrong. One of the most stunning and far-reaching developments will be the discovery and isolation of the "god gene". This is the DNA sequence that makes people susceptible into becomming narrow-minded, non-thinking followers. Much like the propensity found in alcoholics and drug addicts, this DNA sequence will be treated and/or cell-engineered out of existence. Then a new age will dawn for mankind. No longer hiding behind imaginary gods and fearing retribution, or believing superstitions, or blindly following some religious/political demi-god, man will devote himself to far more productive labors. Look around you, every improvement in health, safety, convenience, performance, etc.; came from hard cold rational thoughts and repeatable performance. Not some fantasy belief that supplies your need to be "special".

Absolute best reason not to believe in god?
You might end up being with religious nuts for all eternity! How's that for a hell!

trekkor 06-09-2006 08:14 PM

3_For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4_and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”

2 Peter 3:3,4

I'm not so sure this is true of the current generation. It has been my experience that my generation (aka GenX) has such a low collective opinion of the previous generation (aka Baby Boomers) that it would be hard to be pessimistic about any future generations. From what I hear in my peer group, the general consensus is that the Boomers set such a poor example of selfishness and irresponsibility that the only direction we can go is up. Most of my friends have very high regard for their kids and see the next generation as one which is blessed - or at a minimum, a huge improvement over the Boomers.

How do you know I am a man? Are you assuming? You have no facts here.

Rude, dude your self righteous, my interpitation only, my why or the highway; now THAT is rude.

How in hell can you tell me what god will do, god can do anything, including changing his mind. You are so sad. You spent 20 years in "study" on this BS? Never once did you ever touch on logic. How tragic. There is a whole wide world out there, that you will never really see.

Apart from your own circular arguements, how can you prove (like in math, geometry) I'm not GOD.

trekkor 06-10-2006 11:41 AM

Man= Mankind, or human being if you like.
Rude= Read your posts...To me, you're rude.

All you know about me and my background is what I have posted.

And...Have you ever been sick before?
You have? Then your not God.

You have a body of flesh and blood?
Then your not God.

Think about all the things you have learned over the years.
Then you are not God.

Ever made a mistake? if no, that was a lie and you are not God.
If yes, well, you're not God.

I don't know why you would even say that you are?

Simple.
Take your age, subtract that number. Where were you?

answer is zero. you didn't exist.

Is that enough?

KT

RPKESQ 06-10-2006 11:50 AM

Not so simple.... I am ageless. I always was and always will be.
Try again.

RPKESQ 06-10-2006 12:40 PM

Trekkor, You call lies what you can't prove, yet you swear you believe what you can't prove. Can't have it both ways. My substance is ageless, conservation of matter and all that. I'm signing off this thread. GOD has better things to do!

Steve PH 06-10-2006 01:09 PM

Great choice of a subject. During my childhood in the eighties the world seemed like it was always improving, we had the first space shuttle flights and the start of decent east/west relations culminating with the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Live Aid concerts to try and crack the povery in Africa, the fall of Apartheid in South Africa etc etc...All good then?

Maybe the older I get the more cynical I become but the future looks less rosey. Instead of a cold war with two large enemies sizing each other up but too afraid to pull the triggers because the consequences will be truly appaling, we have small special interest groups. Currently we suffer the actions of extremist Islamic fundamentalists who cheerfully kill for their cause but this isn't the end of it, there are other religious sects as well as the animal rights extremists etc etc who seem just as prone to using violence.

The global warming thing is pretty real too. Whether its completely natural or at least partly assisted by man's activities is open to speculation but what is pretty clear, is that flooding and violent weather will be more of a problem.

However if we can contain the first problem then we can put more resources into enginearing our way out of the second issue.

Lets face it humans aren't really happy if its all plain sailing as a race we like little challenges!
