yup...went to its new owner this week. I had a Monster 620 before the Triumph. The Speed Four blew it away on all accounts except for aftermarket support. They are great bikes, and I would never have sold it if not for a hip injury that made me need a narrower and more relaxed leg position.

I'm diggin' the Multistrada though...once you get used to a Duc v-twin you get addicted...although I'm still thinking a Tuono for my 2nd bike at some point.

yea, i just bought a 620 monster and already have a 1000ss ds. The MS is a wierd kind of looking bike, but I hear they are great touring bikes. If you get a MS...the 1000ds is simply the best duc 2v ever! Aprillia is sweet too....and making a big comeback now that Piaggio owns them

I *love* Aprilias. The MTS is an almost perfect all-around bike. With the rear top case I can haul stuff, my passenger is comfy, and the 1000ds engine is...the 1000ds engine.

How do you like the 1000SS? I rode a 749 and dug it (I like having a "sport" position bike too), but I don't like the maintenance costs with the 4v motors

the riding on my ss is a litle harsh really, but i have ridden one with differetnt risers (cycle cat) and it was much more comfortable. The ss is just a great all around sport bike for me, it has plenty of power and has all the good stuff. It was my first Duc, and I would never buy anything but a Duc now(maybe that speed or an aprillia) they aren't much more than a new Jap bike if you think about it...and they have great resale. The SS is a great bike, I can't say enough about that, and the sound! I have A DP kit, the Termi's are the ticket. I have had NO problems at all, perfect startup and idle quality is great. I hear that they are extremely bulletproof...but look at the bikes the ds is in now....
