Czechs won 3-0 but it wasn't even that close. Now we have to beat both Italy and Ghana to advance.... not and easy task.

If we are going to be called world class in this sport then we need to start pushing it. Most people have no idea what it is, while its the leading sport in the rest of the world...

Its kinda like Formula One.... 99.999% of the people in America do not even know that there is a worldwide racing organization.

What a shame and I was hoping something good would happen this time.
It would be great to see the US team do really well one of these years. Losing that badly to the Czechs would lead me to believe that being ranked 5th was pointless.

One thing that will help is to have some decent coverage of the games. I watched the ABC coverage of the Mexico/Iran game and I put it on mute more than once to shut-up the horrible announcer commentary. Those clowns had no idea how to cover the game. Someone needs to tell them they are completely different than our football/basketball/hockey games and to shut-up and watch the action. The ABC guys really sucked the cool-factor out of the match.
On the contrary, I watched the England/Jamaica friendly game in a pub in Cambridge UK about two weeks ago and it was freakin' awesome. They showed the national anthems being played before the game which was excellent (ABC missed that) and the announcers knew how to present the content. The whole feel of the game was so much better and cooler than the 95 year-old Okie they han on ABC.

![]() We did get screwed in the draw and have a very tough road, but we CAN beat both Ghana and Italy to advance out of the group. We will most likely be stuck with Brazil if we make it out though... Last time out we DID make the quarter finals so its not like we dont have any talent here. |
