It's interesting to read about the people held at Gitmo who are not considered "enemy combatants" but who cannot now be released anywhere.
http://web.amnesty.org/library/Index/ENGAMR510072006 A couple of the people captured in Afghanistan had previously been imprisoned by the Taliban, accused of trying to kill Osama bin Laden. Kind of ironic that we then imprisoned them for 4 years before deternining that there's no place we could send them -- so they are still at Gitmo. I wonder who will click and read? |

A few of us know very well how they got there and why, and its clear that you do not. If you believe everything that the biased news agancies then you are not getting the real picture. For instance, anyone who is found with explosives trying to bomb our forces get a one way trip to Gitmo. Same with someone shooting at our forces, and so on. I could care less if they are human or not, they made their choice and are now suffering because of it. We tried to educate you and see what happened? See "donkey and sing" and it did not work out very well. |
hmmm, they wanted to be dead, they committed suicide, they are dead. so, they got what they wanted, what is the problem?
if someone wants to kill themsleves, let them. |
I will never click on an Amnesty link, since my company already handles their nonsense press releases, in which they always claim either no one is ever guilty or if they are, they should not be imprisoned for their crimes.
Anyway, yes, there are some sad cases at Gitmo, most notably the Uigur Muslems from Xinjiang in China. Albania finally took them because China wanted to punish them if they ever came home. But the three suicide cases sound pretty clear from what I've read. They were bad guys and I'm glad that's nine fewer religiously correct meals per day we'll be paying for. |
